Discovery Inn

Room was very clean and orderly when I arrived. The bothroom was nice as well. A great deal.

It's a clean, safe place. Some foundations for homeless people live here. It's in a bad part of town, yet close to many businesses. The staff is kind. David, the manager, is great at keeping the motel safe and clean. Nice rooms.

I stayed here a few years ago and decide to reserve the room this time through booking.com. I am quite realistic with my expectation; it is a budget motel, not the mariott. The staff are nice. They give me a fan when I tell them someone left the heater on the night before and no one shut it off. The room is slightly renovated from the last time I was here. They don't have continental breakfast in the morning, but they do offer small snacks and pastry with coffee from I think 8:30. Clean, quiet and comfortable and does not make a dent in my wallet.

The hotel is okay, at best. The room smelled liked cigarettes and the carpet felt a bit stick on my feet. It wasn't awful though. No ac or ventilation in the room at all either. So it could be bad on a warmer night.

They advertise pet friendly which is false. They are DOG friendly but don't allow cats. Some people need to travel with their cat such as in my case, I'm relocating. I already made the reservation so I stayed one night while my furbaby stayed in the car. (Sad face)The one night was enough even if they did allow cats. I would not have booked another night. The room smelled awful and the carpet was stained. Dirty walls and I wouldn't call a mini fridge and a microwave a "kitchen". The heat wouldn't come on so it was freezing in the room. I kept turning on the hot water in the shower in an attempt to warm up. It's very very noisy being just a few feet from hwy 101 and many dirty homeless people walking around and hanging out in the parking lot. Thin walls and poor structure so I could hear th
