Hotels exist to provide shelter, rest, and a sense of temporary safety. With this foundational premise in mind, I arrived at this property with expectations calibrated to a budget hotel: modest comfort, functional cleanliness, and no surprises. Unfortunately, what followed was not a stay, but an ethnographic field study on neglect. The ceiling presented extensive dark spotting consistent with what any reasonable adult would suspect to be black mold. While I am not a microbiologist, the organism—whatever its precise taxonomy—appeared well-established and thriving. This suggests a long-term commitment to ceiling-based ecosystems rather than preventative maintenance. The bed, traditionally a place of rest, contained visible stains of indeterminate origin. Didn't get the room on the first floor as I requested but the room is fairly clean and everything is in fairly good working condition except the showerhead which leaked a bit. Left some tip for hotel staff cleaning service seems like they routinely do very good work on keeping the rooms clean. Breakfast has some hot items which is a plus.

The room was very cold upon entering and took a long time (hours) to warm up. Other than that it was nice and friendly and safe. We did come on a snowy night, but knowing we had reserved the room and input the time we would be arriving, it would have been nice to come into an appropriate temperature room. Suggestion for next time.

The location is great, right off the turnpike. There has to be 20 places to eat from fast food to fine within a half mile. The rooms are older but clean and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and the price is right. Includes breakfast. It was perfect for our needs.
