Days Inn by Wyndham Durham/Near Duke University

I understand there weren’t any non smoking rooms left but it still smelled like fresh cigarettes in the room. There was a stain on the comforter and several holes in it as well. Also found a used bandaid on the bathroom floor. The toilet seat was super loose and the air conditioner was pretty dirty. Even the doorway looked like it needed to be replaced as there were many gaps in the doorway. The breakfast that was offered were a couple of breakfast items that were passed out to guests in a brown paper bag. My bag was filled with a Sunny D juice, honey bun, muffin, crackers and a tangerine. The staff were super nice though so no complaints there.

The photos speak for themselves. The room was clearly not even vacuumed. We left after discovering many dead bugs and stains on the mattress covers. They are refusing a refund even though we left two hours after we checked in for what was supposed to be a two night stay. We paid $130 per night so we weren’t expecting luxury but I was too disgusted to even try another room here.

I thought it wasn't too bad for the price but then I turned the lights on everything else came to sight. I understand that most housekeepers only have a set time to clean rooms, usually very short, but they should be given the time to properly clean and thats just that. The first picture idek what is on the wall but that should have been cleaned. The hairdryer on the other hand has someone else’s hair still in it and it’s caked up with past visitors hair products and whatever. When I took my shoes off and stared walking around barefoot it was obvious the carpet was not vacuumed at the slightest there was dirt and black hair sticking to my feet ( my hair is red so no its not mine). The water pressure in the shower isn’t horrible but I wouldn't say it’s decent either. The shower is new, nice

This place is absolutely disgusting. There were roaches and bedbugs in the room. Stained sheets, cigarette butts burns on the comforter. Door didn’t lock. Used needles in the grass. The pool water was BLACK. All the signage was torn down. Smoked filled “front lobby” which consisted of a person behind bullet proof glass checking people in. The building was falling in on itself. Shady dealings outside in the parking lot. We walked in and immediately walked back out asking for a refund. We booked this room for $175/night on Expedia with pictures of this hotel that had to have been at least 20 years old. It was surrounded by abandoned buildings. This property is unsafe and should be demolished.

Horrible location, super run down. We chose to leave due to the following: location made me feel like my car would be broken into, hotel itself is old and falling apart and painted over. The door locked but didn't close fully without a draft (it's winter in NC). The smell is nauseating. The floors are unvacummed. We were told there is actually no breakfast bar, they give you a bag breakfast you take up to your room, 1 bag per person. Asked if they provided shampoo and bodywash or if we needed to pack it, was told they have dispensers in bathroom and there are none. Immediately got itchy from the bed but didn't see anything. Got a refund and left! NO THANK YOU!!
