Dakota Dream Bed & Breakfast & Horse Hotel

Mackenzie is such a phenomenal hostess! We loved our stay at the Dakota Dream B&B and we would stay here again any time we are traveling through Custer, SD.|We stayed in the Bear’s Den and the room was spacious, extremely clean and had a beautiful attached bathroom. The shared living room space was gorgeous! It has a beautiful fireplace, sofas and small refrigerator to store a few items as well. The outside areas are stunning, and you feel as though you are staying in a park setting! We had such a great time being able to visit with the baby cow and just walking her property for some relaxation time. Mackenzie also has a brand new, beautiful, outdoor kitchen where all of the guests can cook full meals if you want, store larger food items and truly make yourselves at home.|Her place is only

We spent a week at this B&B in early August. The first night was in an A Frame. The interior does not have a lot of space, but the entire wall lifts up and you have an open air deck where you can lounge. It is important to note that only those who stay in the B&B building actually get breakfast served in the mornings. The A-Frames and exterior buildings do NOT include breakfast. It says this on the website, but a lot of people don't notice it. We spent the majority of the week in the Bear Den which is inside the actual B&B. We were out and about early on most mornings, so we declined breakfast. The one morning we did have breakfast it was good. There is also an outdoor kitchen which we used a lot for dinners. Mckenzie and Co. Are awesome! Wonderful, thoughtful hostess who put thought and creature comfort understanding into the rooms and common area. Both breakfasts were exceptional. Centrally located to numerous attractions. Loved the stay, the unexpected anniversary gift and sweet note, and the cool animals.

This was our first trip to South Dakota and this accommodation was just what we wanted and helped to make our trip a pleasure. It was out in the country with beautiful grounds. We stayed in the Bear's Den room in the main house at Dakota Dream. It was very roomy and a beautiful room. Having a bathroom in the room was very nice. The whole B&B was very clean. We also made good use of the living room along with the other couple staying in the house. It was a great place to watch a little TV and just to visit. MacKenzie was the perfect host. Our breakfasts were delicious, a new adventure each day.|The location was very good, being near most of the places we wanted to visit.|We would recommend Dakota Dream to anyone.

Awesome place to stay. The location is very peaceful and very convenient to the surrounding hikes and attractions. It is only 7 minutes outside of Custer as well. I stayed in a Stargazer and after a long day, all you need is a shower and a comfy bed. Speaking of showers, the bathroom is private and very clean. The grounds are beautiful and have ample room to walk around. The resident animals (Mongo, goats, and my favorite, Tuffy), are very friendly and fun to be around. Lastly, but most importantly, McKenzie is awesome. She runs the place and is clearly a hard worker. She offered great food recommendations and made sure I was happy and comfortable during my stay.
