Creeper Trail Cottages

We loved our stay! Biking was amazing. Such a great place. Love listening to the water while I slept, felt so safe. Reading book in hammock. Watching the groundhog and ducks. Brewery and distillery a short walk away. Loved the Damascus diner. Buddy and his wife are wonderful people can’t say enough nice things about them and their place. We want to come back for a family reunion next year.

What a relaxing and friendly place to stay! We stayed in Unit T1, which is located right next to the Creeper trail, and is a short walk to Laurel Creek as well as a beautiful pavilion dedicated to Cottage guests. You're also located right next to nearby adventure outfitters if you're visiting Damascus to enjoy the Creeper trail (like we were). While our unit's furnishings were gently worn, the cottage was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is also very-well equipped - especially for a short-term rental. While that was all good, the best part of our stay was dealing with our host Buddy who is epitome of friendliness, kindness and hospitality. We can't wait to come back.

The 1-bedroom "Rock Bottom" Cottage suited our preference for a simple, functional, roomy base from which to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail, just steps away. It was luxurious compared to our usual tent or KOA cabin stays! Our 4-night stay was during the coldest weather of the season so far -- daytime 40s/nighttime 20s -- but the cottage maintained the cozy 67F we set. We can't say enough about the cleanliness and the very well-appointed kitchen. Dishes, utensils, pots were all in good condition. Electric appliances included a full-size stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker (with coffee!) and clothes washer/dryer. The wi-fi performance was good but we didn't use it or the Internet-connected TV much. The double bed was very comfy memory foam made up with quality linens.

My boyfriend, dogs, and I all LOVED our experience here. Buddy was a fantastic host and the cottage was very clean and comfy. I absolutely felt at home and was in heaven with the river and surroundings on the premises. There were baby ducks <3 Buddy threw out corn and feed for the bigger duckies. He had an occupied bird house hanging in the tree right outside our cottage. It looked to be a chickadee family living in it. We canNOT wait to go back!

Our group really enjoyed our stay in this warm and inviting little cottage. It was very clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for the long weekend. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet, and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The location is perfect, with both the Creeper Trail, the river, and several restaurants and an outfitters just steps away.||||I can't wait to go back!
