Courtyard by Marriott South Bend Downtown

This is a great hotel. While slightly dated, the staff more than make up for it. Mary, Christian, Bri and Darneisha make it worth it. They are kind, friendly, and truly want their customers to feel welcome. The food is good, it’s quiet, and the location is close to many restaurants and other activities. I’ve stayed here nearly every week for 5 months and before moving on to my next assignment wanted to say thank you and well done.

My husband and I stayed at said hotel to attend the Notre Dame / Texas A&M game. We flew in from New York to attend. When we packed up to leave on Sunday morning, my passport was missing. I had attempted to lock my purse and passport in the safe; however, it was inoperable. Before we left for the game on Saturday, our cleaning lady knocked on our door three times before 10:00 a.m. to clean our room. When we left for the game, she was waiting outside. So obvious. My biggest problem is with their incompetent manager, Todd. He has been uncooperative and evasive regarding the situation. I filed a police report with hopes this doesn't happen to another as the entire situation doesn't sit well with me.

Positive: Great staff! Negative: No hot water in our room. Room number 239. We didn?t discover it until early the next morning we when went to take showers before departure. Nothing could be done because maintenance wasn?t on duty yet. A new room was offered but we were ready to leave.

We just had an absolutely EXCELLENT experience here yesterday while in town for a gymnastics competition across the street (literally about 20 steps from Courtyard's front door). The people here could not have been more welcoming and accommodating...quite literally every staff member we encountered had this type of positive attitude. You can tell that management knows what they are doing because all of the staff, from valet to front desk to bartender seemed to enjoy being/working there. They took pride in their work while providing top notch service with a smile. Adam and the other young gentlemen working valet were so polite and helpful. The were proactive in their approach, extremely courteous and not pushy. They are the EXACT types of people you want at your front doors initiating

Stayed here for a quick trip. The staff were great and the room was excellent. The lack of parking options was an issue but I utilized the hotel valet service. The valet staff were great and quick to bring my car around when called upon. Owen was very helpful and made the process a smooth one.
