Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk

We came here on our way down to the border for christmas. The bathrooms did not smell clean. Also, their shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were either not that effective and or drying to the skin and hair. They do not serve breakfast. They do have a downstairs restaurant that serves it, however it is not worth the money for the quality given. They have old school water fountains in the lobby floor and bottled warer in the rooms, at $6…We do not plan on returning or recommending this place. The staff is friendly and they do have a basic gym. Stay here if you need to or if its free.

The cafe was nice. The staff was very helpful. Hopefully they get some new stuff on the river down there for them. It is a quiet part of the river, which is nice for the sleeping part.

I would say this was a 3.5 stay, but I will bump it to 4 because there was more good than bad. We had a great room that had a balcony and looked out over the river and that was fabulous! The hotel was struggling with hot water issues when we stayed there. We had warm water and were never uncomfortable, but the water never got hot, especially in the sink. Also the valet takes way too long to get your car. There is not self parking and you have to use the valet or park elsewhere. I also will mention that the entrance is easy to miss and then you have to go around the block, so when you are approaching go slow. Right now there is scaffolding around the whole of the front of the hotel, so that may help you find it. If you choose to eat breakfast there, you order it and they bring it to you, it

If I could give them a 4.5, I would. I have to say the staff I interacted with were great: friendly, helpful, cheerful, and considerate. The property, however, is a bit dated and could use a makeover. The location on the Riverwalk was wonderful.

This location was perfect! The location was right by the Riverwalk and was a very short walk to The Alamo. The Convention Center is also not that far away. The property itself was clean and updated. My room was comfortable and had an open, modern feel. I was lucky to get a room with a balcony so the view was quite nice. I took advantage every day of the pool area which included a hot tub - I was surprised more people were not down there! The fitness room had some good equipment and filtered water/cold towels. The staff was very accommodating including the GM who wrote a welcome email and replied to my request of having a quiet room. He placed me in a good location.
