A Simple, No-Frills Stay That Gets the Basics Right Courtyard Raleigh Midtown is a very straightforward hotel with no major highlights or standout amenities. The property feels simple and functional, without trying to be anything more than it is. The service is fine and efficient, but nothing that really stands out or adds a personal touch. Everything works as expected, which is perfectly acceptable for this category. Overall, it’s a no-pretensions hotel that delivers a clean, comfortable room and a decent night’s sleep. Good if you’re looking for something practical, but not a place you’d choose for the experience itself.

Stayed for a softball tournament and got in around midnight, exhausted from a full day of games and cold. Assigned to room 103 and despite the request to be away from the elevators, we were so happily (sarcastic!) placed across from the gym! Sunday we were able to sleep in a bit since we had a later game yet the constant noise (weights) from the gym kept us awake since 7 something in the morning. So great for team no sleep with tournaments all day in the cold and a 3 hour drive home. Very disgruntled to say the least!

This is an old property with a very odd layout. The elevator is located far from the lobby. The walls are paper-thin with no soundproofing at all. I was placed on the ground floor next to a crying baby, making it impossible to rest. After being on the road for two weeks, I really needed a good night’s sleep, so I asked to change rooms. The front desk clerk sighed and acted annoyed, saying the hotel was almost fully booked. I completely understand if a hotel is full. If he had simply said no, I would have accepted it. But then he found a room on the second floor and asked if I had used the bathroom. When I said yes, he rolled his eyes. I’m not sure if he’s related to the owner or just doesn’t like his job, but he should not be working at the front desk. His coworker next to him awkwardly sm

I really enjoyed my stay. The Marriott team was friendly and truly showed Southern hospitality. The gym was clean and well-equipped, and my room was quiet with great sound insulation, so I was able to rest well. They also have a great lobby/bar/restaurant area with a really nice atmosphere

My husband and I stayed here over Thanksgiving while visiting family, and this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. When we first checked in, everything seemed fine—until we saw a roach in our room. The young man at the front desk was kind and did his best to help, and we were moved to a new room. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the second room, there was another roach. We were moved a third time, and the next morning—right after our 1-year-old woke up—we found a third roach, this time on the headboard. At that point, we checked out early. We asked to speak with a manager, but were told none were available due to the holiday, which we understood. What’s unacceptable is that it’s now been three days with no call back, no follow-up, nothing. When we tried reaching out
