Courtyard by Marriott Owatonna Downtown

Very clean, bed was uncomfortable sinking in so felt like a taco. Staff at check in was amazing. Staff on Saturday morning were awful and rude. Breakfast I seen my food sitting under the warming light for 5 minutes. By the time it was infront of me my eggs were getting cold. The chef came out after I mentioned the cold eggs introduced himself the “ executive chef that’s not uniform”. Basically was grilling me about the food being under warming light. Never apologized or offered to make new ones. I actually had to interrupt his ranting to get him to stop so I can eat cold eggs. Server was not friendly, doesn’t say anything or smile. Took a while to get drinks. Mind you we were the only ones there. I ordered orange juice and I got 2 super small juice boxes which was ridiculous. I paid for th

Titanium Status with this Marriott means nothing. Don’t bother staying. |I was there for business and have stayed there the last 4 years. I was placed right in the middle of a wedding block. Called down at 11:42 pm on Friday to complain about the extremely loud group, I was told to give them a while because they just got back. They were up until after 2 am, which meant that I was as well. Got 3.5 hours of sleep. Looked for a cart at 6:30am - none available. They only had 2 and the front desk attendant said it was probably the wedding party that had the carts. Other than Evelyn, you can tell that the entire staff that works the desk would much rather be somewhere else. They were not interested in helping anyone that came to ask for help. I had mixed feelings about my stay at this Marriott. On the positive side, the staff was genuinely friendly and polite, which I appreciated. However, there were some major issues. For two days, the water coming from the tap was discolored—brown, like dirt—which was very concerning. In addition, the AC/heater unit made a loud clicking noise every 15 minutes, including throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. Also, don’t assume the bar is reasonably priced—$10 for a single beer was a surprise and felt excessive. Overall, while the staff was kind, the maintenance issues and unexpected costs took away from what should have been a comfortable stay.

For being such a small town, this hotel is by far one of the best within a couple hundred miles. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are clean and smell good, and the location is perfect. I came off of a 14 day boundary Waters canoe trip and had to stay at this hotel because my knees were too swollen to drive. I had my golden retriever with me and they were more than accommodating to him as well. I will stay here every year moving forward. I can’t say enough good.

Traveling through & spent the night. Hotel common areas & rooms were clean & up to date. Staff were friendly. Comfortable beds. Hotel was busy with guests coming up to rooms at 3 AM. They were noisy in the hallways & could be heard in rooms. I realize staff have little control of this. ||It’s great that there’s a bar & bistro to order an evening meal. Beers reasonably priced. We had avocado turkey BLT sandwiches. The ingredients were fresh but skimpy, very little avocado; not worth the cost. |Staff recommended for breakfast- the option of the hotel bistro & bagel shop next door. We stopped in to bagel shop as we headed out of town. It was very busy. The bagels ( many choices ) were wonderful, delicious, fresh with many cream cheese options , nicely toasted. Great tasting coffee.
