Courtyard by Marriott Jekyll Island

This could be a much better hotel. Our room was not vacuumed before we got there. There were big tufts of hair on the floor as well as little pieces of trash. The wall in the bathroom has mold. Everything else was ok. If you are a Marriott member, you won't be recognized. They also charge you these random 30.00 "destination" fees. I was also charged for a restaurant I didn't go to.

As a previous marriott employee and as much as I love staying at marriott hotels, this one is by far the worst when in terms of service. We asked if we can sit at a booth with the tv if we ordered to go, two people said yes, we put in the order then suddenly they said no. My group got upset wanting to see the restaurant manager to no avail. Front desk guy just kept coming back and forth to the kitchen by talking to the manager. I tried to work with them regardless of their miscommunication, I even asked since the food is not out then just make it for dine in so we can sit, then they said we cant because we “signed” and closed our tabs already. Mind you they add 20% grat on a to go oder and 2 of my orders are room charge. They even said if we wanted, we can order something else dine in but

My mother and I stayed at this location between November 15-22 2025. During our stay we realized that the services available were less than ideal. Photos have been attached for others to form their own opinions||For a start, housekeeping was supposedly done on a refresher basis every two days, which, according to them, meant tidy up and empty the trash. This was problematic because housekeeping never seemed to stop by our room during this alleged “refresher visit”. We could ask for a full service but when I did that, was told that it was only done once per week and only on Fridays and a request outside of that required a 24hr advance notice?? Call Dr Kissinger! We need approval for fresh linens and an empty trash can!! Changing sheets and vacuuming requires 24hr notice?? This was no

Positive: The stuff is not the friendliest, what i mean with is that when i ask question they will answer but it a face and demeanor like i am bothering them. Negative: The hotel is in a great location and very clean, bu the breakfast cafe is a mess. They were out of things and the food was okey for the price we paid.

We stayed as our daughter was getting engaged a total surprise to her! Brenda helped up at check in and was such a delight. Making our experience even better! We will definitely be back. The hotel is gorgeous, rooms spacious, breakfast wonderful, the property is absolutely divine with yard games, bikes, and the views are beautiful!
