Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, San Antonio Medical Center, TX

This is definitely a solid three star hotel, mainly because the rooms and decor feel a bit outdated. That said, the stay was still very pleasant. The breakfast bar was really delicious with plenty of options, and the food overall exceeded expectations. What stood out the most was the staff, everyone we encountered was kind, welcoming, and very helpful, which made our stay much better.

I love it here! They make me feel so welcome and so happy to see me as I am happy to see the staff! My home away from home. The rooms are perfect, nice and clean. I stay often for medical reasons and it's very close to where I have to go, no heavy traffic to contend with and shopping places are also nearby. Everyone that works here are super nice, helpful and very professional! Some even feel like family! I love them and the hotel!

The hotel is gated. There is no direction/sign indicating how to get in the gate. Our Lyft driver pulled up to the intercom and pressed the button. We received no response for 5 minutes. Another hotel guess walking up to the gate instructed us to just drive up to the gate for it to open. We entered our room to find the tv on. There were gross stains all over the carpet. There were multiple large stains on the mattress. There was no drain plug in the sink so contacts, earrings, rings could easily fall into the drain requiring you to cover the drain with a towel. The light in the shower wasn’t working. I expressed my concerns to the hotel chain when asked to rate my experience during and after my stay with no response.

This was a great stay of overall the hotel was located in a great area close to where our travels needed. However, there was a certain cleanliness that was lacking in the hotel itself specifically the carpet in the main lobby could use a cleaning as it gives off a pungent odor. One of the most convenient perks was the pool and hotel breakfast that was enjoyed.

A Tale of Two Stays ​My recent stays at this hotel have been a study in contrasts. The first time, my experience was largely positive. The bed in room 317 was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. While the food left a bit to be desired, the overall stay was pleasant. ​This most recent visit, however, got off to a rocky start. The initial room, 137, was a disappointment. It had dead roaches, and despite being told to wait 10 minutes for hot water, we waited for over an hour with no success. Thankfully, the staff was understanding and promptly moved us to room 338. This new room was a significant improvement. It had reliable hot water, and we look forward to trying the bed and food. ​I appreciate the staff's quick action in resolving the issues with room 137.
