Commodore on the beach

The rooms were clean I will give credit for that. Shower and sink would not drain. Shower with bath around feet type situation. Laid down to take nap that was a fail. They had someone banging on pipes, and using chipping hammer. Then the AC went out. It was out for at least 6 hours so it was 80 degrees in my room. The phone in room doesn't work. Great view, nice pool. I paid $180 per night that's a lot to not be able to enjoy my room

While booking online, this “hotel” looked really nice, pictures are appealing to the eye, but don’t let that fool you. When I drive into the parking lot, I was shocked!! I can’t believe I paid to stay here! Arrived at check in to be told my room wasn’t ready but allow them 30 min. Returned 30 min later and the housekeeping met me at the door. Room still had not been cleaned. They did jump right on it and was very apologetic. This room isn’t too bad but my opinion wasn’t cleaned properly and it’s very very old and out dated! Not enough towels in the bathroom, they didn’t mop and the pool is beautiful in the pictures on the internet, but are missing tiles and the grounds around the pool needs cleaning. No actual breakfast, it’s muffins and cereal. Not impressed at all!! Not enough pillows on

This hotel is well located at a 15-minute walk from the pier. The service is friendly and hassle free to check in or check out. However, it is a hotel with structure problems. Time has been affecting its appearance and there are some cracks in the walls, stairs and balconies that are worrying. The hotel was not fully booked on a holiday weekend. It seems that more than half of the rooms are not in use, which made us feel like we were in a ghost hotel. The room was organized, but I have doubts about how often they wash the covers. Continental breakfast is not good. They only offer instant coffee that you must prepare yourself and granola bars. This is an ok hotel if you don't plan to spend much time in your room or the facilities. The only good side is the service and the view. The lady at

The room was clean, beds were soft, view was great and staff were friendly. All downhill after that. Exterior of Hotel looks run down and dirty! Unable to watch TV, reception was terrible. No hot water, only warm. Locks on doors were extremely difficult to open. On the positive side they were updating the flooring in some rooms. Definitely needs a major makeover and updating.

My family and I stayed 5 days at the commodore and were very active while in Galveston so we didn’t spend a lot of the time there- it’s bearable if you won’t be there much like us. It was an okay hotel to stay at. The floors had sand on them when we arrived in our room, the pool was green, half the lights in our room stopped working on the 3rd day, the elevator was broken and we were on the third floor, the beds were really stiff- made both of our backs hurt. They had a crew painting the exterior the entire time we were there and didn’t say anything to us about the wet paint which I thought was pretty odd.. the younger woman we checked in with was pleasant- the older woman we checked out with- not so much. She was on her phone on personal phone calls several times while I was in the lobby
