Comfort Suites University Area Notre Dame-South Bend

First, the staff is kind, responsive, and as efficient as they can be outside of corporate doctrines. The room is the issue. Dirty carpets that were ill fitted at the perimeter of the room. Paint in the bathroom was sloppy with drips an drabs around the edges. The floor of the bathroom is abhorrent. Most of the floor tiles are cracked. approaching the tub there are bits missing with sharp edges exposed, and the subfloor beneath sagging from rot. I did not use the shower during my stay, fearful of issues either entering or exiting the tub. The faucet handle for the sink is not securely attached. The PTAC has great difficulty in regulating room temperature, due to placement of a bed, which inhibits air flowing over the thermostat sensor on t

The rooms could use some work with repainting certain areas and issues with the bathroom door not closing. Other than that, the staff were extremely welcoming and kind. Lynda in specific was amazing. The breakfast was as good as it gets for a hotel. The location is very close to Notre Dame campus being only about a 10 minute drive to the football stadium. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in South Bend!

This hotel has honestly been a great stay. It’s got its hotel quirks but honestly, it’s nothing abnormal for a hotel. What boosted this hotel up for me was that the staff are actually SO FRIENDLY!!! Very nice people that made my stay better, genuinely. Lovely time, thank you!!!

I was in South Bend visiting family and friends. We chose this hotel over the others and we were DELIGHTED!! The owners, the manager, the front desk staff and the housekeepers were all INCREDIBLY awesome!!! Here’s the deal… if, you’re visiting ND, St.Marys or IU? Forget the rest! This is the best!! Oh, btw… the newly remodeled rooms, interior and exterior are looking great!!

I have stayed at many comfort suites but this one was definitely not up to the quality of the choice brand. From the outside, the aesthetics are beautiful, but the rooms are old and outdated. The tv had a horrible picture quality. This comfort suites was like a quality inn ( motel version) as far as standards. With this hotel being located in South Bend so closest to the college I was very disappointed. The sheets had stains on the them. The sofa cushions also had stains. The only saving grace with the front desk staff which was very friendly & accommodating.
