We always choose non-smoking hotel-room because I am allergy cigarette smoke, it triggers an allergy on me. Like irritation like continuous coughing, sneezing, & runny/watery eyes. Since the landline phone is not working so my husband went down to the front desk and told them that we smell cigarette smokes. There is an attached door that was closed to other room, we put a towel below that door so that it will stop coming-in the smells of a cigarette smoke in our room. It’s stop then we slept. Today, Friday this morning around 8am, I smelled again a cigarette smoke so my husband went down again & tell them the same scenario. My husband and I had been driving for a bit last night and just wanted to rest our eyes for a few hours. We did not pre-book... just showed up and paid for the room at the front desk. In a moment I will elaborate why I was so angry. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I had an extremely disappointing experience at Comfort Inn in Wethersfield/Hartford. I made a reservation online around 6:30 PM for the same night into the following morning for myself, my husband, and our two children. I received a confirmation email, so we went to the hotel around 3 AM to check in. At the front desk, I was told my reservation had been canceled due to a declined credit card, which was not accurate — my card had available funds and no issue on my end. I was then told that if I wanted a room as a walk-in, it would cost $225, compared to the $130 I originally booked. This hotel was a terrible experience from start to finish. We stayed three nights, and every single day—sometimes twice a day—our key cards stopped working and had to be reprogrammed. The front lobby was consistently disorganized and poorly managed. Only one elevator was operational during our stay, creating ongoing inconvenience. There was also a constant smell of marijuana throughout the building, particularly on the second floor, which made the environment unpleasant and unprofessional. Breakfast was another major disappointment. Although advertised, it was only available one of the three mornings we were there. The service here is one of the worse. I am Diamond member of Choice and this is one of the worst for staffing. The front desk made me wait 2 1/2 hours before checking in during a snow/freezing rain weather. Then when finally allowed in did not give me a top floor room AFTER I had called a week ahead to request this. The halls reek of smoke or some odd smell. The elevator is missing buttons. My bathroom sink did not drain. Doors are heavy and slam shut. Breakfast has a sign for starting at 6:00 am but front desk says no it starts at 7:00am which was too late for me as I had to be gone by 6:30 am.
