Comfort Inn University Durham - Chapel Hill

I had stayed there before, several years ago, and it's an okay hotel. It is relatively quiet but certainly showing some age. I think it could have been a bit cleaner since I found a long hair in the tub and another one blew out of the hairdryer when I used it. Breakfast was okay. The employees were nice enough.

Always a comfort stay... It's in their name. I'll be looking for another Comfort Inn on the Raleigh section of my work project. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of pillows and the rooms were clean. The lady at the front desk was super nice. I had to do an early check-in since I work nights right now. One thing I absolutely hate about Comfort Inn is the fact they treat internet bandwidth as if it's some sort of limited resource. They use Spectrum at this location and cap you at 10Mbps down. Upload bursts up to 22Mbps, but levels off at 10Mbps. If you need faster, they make you pay. IT'S 2026 PEOPLE! WAKE UP!! You can't even watch a 1080p/60 video without it buffering. This is the ONLY hotel chain that still milks this. Pathetic! In 2026, give us at least 25Mbps. For a few dollars more I

I stay in a hotel at least twice a month with work so I’ve seen them all. While comfort inn isn’t a luxury hotel as there are many nicer ones, the staff there just created the absolute environment that it felt like luxury. The staff there from Kimberly to Devan (hopefully I’m spelling their names correct) was absolutely the best. I can’t remember the name of the other lady at the front desk but she was on top of her game when we had issues with our room cards not working. The cleaning staff were on point with anything that we needed. Devan had the breakfast with the bacon, eggs, waffles, greek yogurt, juice, grits, hash rounds, and sausage ready every morning sharp. Saturday was game day and soon as any food got low, he was right there with some more to make sure everyone got enough. Only

Booked my room that they didn’t even have downgraded me to a worse room had to pay more money for the room J Bell was very confusing told me over the phone that only had to do $100 deposit when I got here she then said it was 200 the shower barely works. It does not drain This. This has been the worst experience that I have ever had at a hotel. She was very reluctant to accommodate what she promised us over the phone and when we got here it was completely different and she acted like she didn’t even know who we were over the phone when she got my name over the phone J Bell, terrible employee.

Really nice location right off the interstate with tons of restaurants nearby and easy access into chapel Hill and Durham. UNC campus under 15 minutes away. Only complaint location-wise is that that stretch of I-40 can get extremely clogged making travel to different parts of the Raleigh metro area difficult. Room overall was nice and bed very comfortable. Only complaint about the room was that bathroom was in serious need of updates. Breakfast was solid but nothing noteworthy. Coffee set up could be better. All in all a very good value and would probably stay here again in the future.
