Comfort Inn & Suites South Hill I-85

The hotel is in horrid condition! Photos below to reference my complaints. The carpet had stains everywhere, there was mold all over the heater, mold inside of shower, bathroom sink stopped up repeatedly, coffee machine was filthy, rust on bathroom shower curtain holder, doors were all scratched up, the lights were broken and didn’t come on, lamp shade tore up and they have roaches! There was a dead bug on my pillow when I flipped it over and there were roaches crawling on the walls. I had to check each item before packing it up in plastic bags to ensure I didn’t take any roches home. There were men smoking weed right out in front of the hotel. The good thing is staff was very polite and helpful.

Breakfast was nice. Location was helpful to our travel. Staff were wonderfully friendly. Price was fair. Room clean. Definitely dated building. Elevator clunky; bathroom door didn’t fully close. Slight odor to room. Fire alarm for building went off at 6:30am.

Our room, bathroom, lobby and outside was clean. The check in clerk was pleasant and the 6am morning clerk, CJ was so cheerful and courteous for that hour of the morning. The breakfast area was clean and food was hot. The breakfast clerk was always going around to ensure the area was clean. In our travels this has to be one of the nicest stays.

I have been staying here for months. But first let me say that the General Manager there is very very professinal. But the housekeeping staff can be a little rude at times. Sometimes the rooms have spotted linen on the bed. (bedspreads). But the only reason I keep going is because the management staff shows you GOOD HOSPITALITY. (Jessie Moore). He always greets you with a smile and he makes you feel welcome. But with this being said Comfort Inn and Suites. Is a OVERALL nice place to stay.

Checked in and the front desk lady was super friendly and helpful- When my wife and I got into our room we noticed how clean and roomy it was. It was also very quiet and had alot of room for parking! The-Wi-fi worked great and liked how they had alot of pillows on the bed. There was a free breakfast that we ate before we left and plenty of hot water! Thank you to all the staff at the South Hill, VA location for being friendly and helpful! We will be back!
