Comfort Inn & Suites Hazelwood - St. Louis

Overall it was satisfactory, good location off the i-70 as we were traveling. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was somewhat outdated, a little hard to close the bathroom door. The only actual problem was that the bathroom floor was not clean. The wall behind the door was filthy, obviously not cleaned for a long time. When the door was closed, it was obvious to see. Otherwise, it was ok. The breakfast was very good, many choices. The staff was helpful and professional.

We had a pleasant stay! The man at the front desk was very polite! Our bed was amazing! Had to get the room due to having surgery early the next morning! Only issue is the pool is a little too cold so didn’t swim.

This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. The beds were uncomfortable and felt unclean, the sheets were visibly stained and the bathroom was covered in mold. Everything about the property seemed poorly maintained and unsanitary. What made the experience even worse was the management’s attitude. There was no sense of hospitality or concern for guests it felt like money was the only priority. The lack of professionalism and care was extremely disappointing. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

- This is not a three star hotel.|- This is not an “updated” hotel.|- This is a hotel that got new paint and branding from Comfort Inn but still has the popcorn ceilings and stucco-looking walls from the 1970s. The fixtures are worn and falling apart. The toilet screw that holds the lid on had broken off. The security slider had worn through on one end where it attaches to the doorframe.|- The beds are spring mattresses on folding spring platforms that are OVER the base of the “Comfort Inn” beds. If you have a back that’s at all achy, these will not help you.|- The bathroom is very tiny - hard to close the door behind you unless you wedge yourself in|- I know the area pretty well, family lives nearby, I’ve lived and visited in places all over… and I would not feel comfortable staying here

Room was clean, but when we arrived, the closet door was falling off of its hinges at the top, the hair dryer did not work, and some of the hot breakfast items were completely empty when we arrived for breakfast. We requested biscuits to be brought out for the gravy. When they arrived, they were warm, but we believe they had been reheated more than once as they were hard over half way through the biscuit. Breakfast crew was on phone conversation (speakerphone) the whole time we were eating our breakfast. It appeared to be with family. The hotel also appeared to need updating. I do not like to complain, but this was not acceptable.
