Comfort Inn & Suites Durham near Duke University

Amazing hotel to stay at. Totally work it. The employees are sweet and caring. They tend to you with the utmost attention, always making sure everything is how it needs to be. There is free breakfast in the mornings and it is really the best part of the day here at Comfort Inn & Suites. They have personal coffee makers in each room as well as an office and a beautiful bathroom. However, I feel that the shower does not get warm enough and the sink is way too loud and gets hotter than the shower does. Nonetheless, it was an amazing stay and I would totally recommend it.

This hotel is very close to Duke hospital, about 8 minutes away 👍. The room was clean and comfortable. I travel to the hospital every two months and will book here again. Also I thought the rates were reasonable. (One) problem, there was a very good breakfast nook with the usual eggs, sausage, waffles etc. But the room is 2 or3 steps down with no wheelchair access.

This hotel has bed bugs. No way I should have red itchy bumps in the middle of winter. There was some sort of dead bug right next to my bed. Was in room 511 by the way Also after a long day of travel I stood at the front desk for a least 5 minutes with no service. Only reason someone came out was because I called the front desk while standing there. Would not stay here.

The hotel it self was fine. Beds were comfortable, housekeeping was great. It would have been a perk if we could connect to Netflix but the TV had good movie channels. My biggest issue was parking. There was insufficient parking, especially at night. On one side of the building you had several huge white bucket trucks taking up at least 20 spaces. They need to go. There were several people who had to park across the street at Walgreens and walk over. That’s unacceptable. Also, when I arrived, the staff wasn’t very welcoming. I didn’t get a “hi how are you” or anything, they handed me my room key, didn’t tell me what room number, directions on how to get there, where the best place to park, nothing about free breakfast or connecting to WiFi. Very inhospitable, I believe their name was F

Positive: Very clean, friendly staff. Negative: Parking was challenging since many large trucks often took 2 spaces. Breakfast choices could have more options.
