Comfort Inn & Suites Durango

Definitely not what it used to be. I have stayed here several times over the past 12-13 years- both in summer and winter. Our last summer trip was around 2023 and it was still a great place to stay- very clean, nice sized suites, helpful staff and good basic breakfast. Our most recent winter stay was over Presidents Day weekend 2026. I am not sure what happened but there was definitely a rapid decline in upkeep and general care/service. We requested a suite away from the ice machine and elevator due to noise. The man at check-in informed my husband there was only 1 ice machine in the lobby. The man put us in a suite literally across from the ice machine on the 3rd floor (next to the window overlooking the indoor pool). There were a few cleanliness issues with the room. There was hair still in the bathtub and some grime on the shower curtain. The coffee maker also had an old pod in it. The sink didn't drain properly and the sink didn't work. On the day of check-in the person working the front desk was amazing! He really went over the top to make sure we felt welcome and gave us a choice of the floor we wanted to be on. We did like the free cookies and popcorn and the breakfast was great.

The facilities are outstanding. A hot breakfast was delicious. The staff at the front desk was knowledgeable and very helpful. The room was also outstanding. It seemed higher quality than expected. So it exceeded expectations.

Originally booked this hotel for one night due to an emergency. Our first night was great. Rooms were cleaned and tidy. Morning breakfast was good, didn't catch the workers name there but he was attentive. Due to our emergency we ended up booking a second night. Just want to give a big thank you to the front desk gentleman named Doug. During the first & second night we stayed, he greeted us with such kindness. The first stay he placed us next door to our family & during the second, he said he instantly recognized my name when he received the booking so he saved the same room for us. I appreciate a thoughtful worker like Doug & would absolutely recommend this hotel due to their compassion and overall cleanliness.

After explaining my needs for a room for my elderly mother and me, the hotel clerk gave us the perfect room. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We slept through the night, had warm showers, and enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast, before packing up to check out. . We were completely satisfied and I will definitely look for a Comfort Inn & Suites the next time I need a hotel for the night.
