Comfort Inn Shelby

Though we have stayed here many times, and have been very pleased, the mattress was sagging badly, and we slept little the first night. We mentioned the problem to the front desk manager next morning and were given another room the second night, which was much better. Renovations are needed and they are happening now it seems. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating.

This is definitely one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The staff was friendly at check-in but that’s where the positive experience stops. The rooms were not clean at all. Toilet seat had a “sanitize” sign on it but the seat was visibly very dirty and I had to clean it for several minutes. The floors were sticky in spots and generally dirty/greasy. I also used a white wash cloth to try and wipe the floor and it came up brown. Later that night after a shower I walked from the bathroom to the bed and my feet were dirty/discolored from the floor. The desk had dried condiments and food residue on it. The room service cleaning staff had left an envelope on the desk with her name on it “Courtney” ask for a cash tip and to bring it to the front desk. The tub is clogged in mine so

Over the years, I have stayed at comfort inn (Shelby) multiple times. This last stay was so shocking. We were on the second floor, but the elevator wasn’t working, so we had to haul our luggage up a stairwell. Once in our room, the tub was leaking out into the floor (even though it hadn’t even been used) so that tells me there is a leak behind or under it. The toilet would not flush. I took the lid off of the tank and there wasn’t any water in it. Once I called the front desk, they moved us immediately (which we were so grateful for). After her shower, my daughter informed me the water was cold and never got warm. We stayed here for a wedding event and the rooms were very clean. The staff is amazing and friendly, shout out to Lanisha for being so warm and welcoming. The hotel is centrally located, lots of things and restaurants nearby. 5/5 would stay here again. Also, shout out to one of the housekeepers (I didn’t get her name) for stopping to help my disabled grandmother get ice, she really didn’t have to but she went above and beyond to help.

The general manager was very nice. I shared this with her. Good location. Mostly quiet. Very clean. Friendly staff. Good food for breakfast. Needs an update / refresh desperately. The elevator and ice maker did not work. One ice maker did. Hard for staff to service guest when corporate does not have working essentials. Really need to update the building. Electric sockets are old and scary. About blew out my hair dryer. Just update. Thanks
