Comfort Inn Raleigh Midtown

Location: Hotel is in a great, convenient location. Close to stores, restaurants, and things to do. Professionalism & staff: I wish we would gotten the names. They are some unfriendly people at the desk! The housekeeping staff are very professional & hospitable. I hate to describe them this way but there was 1 black guy who was there when we checked out at 6am on Sunday morning 2/22 that was very nice & even spoke. Professional & hospitable. 1 Hispanic guy when we came in from an evening out on 2/21 that spoke & was pleasant. Those were the only two that made us feel welcome. The rest, literally have no people skills. Won't even speak when you speak. The Hispanic girl is rude and discourteous and has no business being at the front desk! Positive: This hotel is very good. I liked almost my stay there. Negative: Yes I didn’t like the smell when I walked in the hallway to the room and out to the elevator. I think it’s coming from the carpet. The room was nice and clean. But, there was no light in the right table lamp and the lamp above.

Positive: Cleanliness. Breakfast. The triangle couch, and the portable table in front of it. The well cushioned office chair. The ac/heating system felt comfortable. Friendly front staff...getting harder to find these days. Negative: Commode took two flushes, as though it almost overflowed. Refrigerator cabinet wouldn't shut all the way exposing my shins to injury. Body Conditioner tube on shower wall was broken off.

At first glance you think everything will be good. Go into the room to look around and then we find a roach on the ceiling. Open up the curtain to look outside, window is filthy to the point it looks cloudy. The little lights over the bed doesn’t work. Went to take a shower, No Hot Water! Told the front desk about it all, they had already knew about the hot water and was calling maintenance but they never called to let anyone know about this issue beforehand. Which I believe is unprofessional and then we were given another room… In the new room, the lights over the bed still didn’t work and they were roaches in the bathroom, and the water was still not that hot. We will never stay here again. We should be compensated for the inconvenience

The staff were good, the breakfast what you would expect. The rooms and interior of the hotel was just sad and in need of repairs. The exterior is nice but it is obvious that money to renovate this aging property has not been spent. In our room, the shower backed up and water pressure was low, shower curtains need replacing. Doors to the furniture would not close and the lamp in between the 2 beds was overbearing and the shade torn.
