Comfort Inn Lakeside

Our room was very big because we received an upgrade for being a gold Choice member, however, the room needed a desperate deep cleaning. It was very dusty, the sink faucet wasn't secure, the hot water took a long time to come out and the toilet bowl and tank had cracks in it. The stairwell leading up to the room needed a deep cleaning of the carpets, wall, windows and the stuck on dead bugs. And, the entrance door to the 3 suites is not clearly marked so we missed it the first time and got snapped at from the front desk when I had to ask again where the door to our room was. Also, the breakfast is at the hotel next door which is very odd, but, they had a good variety of food to offer. We enjoyed our time in Mackinaw City and stayed an extra night, but, I'm not sure I'd stay at that locati

Nice location. Great view of the lake, but old & outdated hotel with horrible uncaring front desk & management staff. The wonderful breakfast they talk about is next door at the other nicer Hampton Inn hotel. (Do yourself a favor & just stay there) The main reason for the 1 star is they are greedy for money here & care less about you. I had an emergency situation (death in the family) where I needed to cancel 48 hrs prior to my stay. I missed the time to easily cancel via the app by less than 12 hours. I called and they refused to accommodate me, despite me being a platinum Choice Hotel member for decades & my family emergency situation. Not 1 apology for my loss. Not to mention, a few minutes after I called to cancel they charged my card-2 days early! Receptionist who answered the phone

Absolutely disgusting. This establishment is so beyond run down and uncared for. Booked a room for $227 walked into room and there were large cobwebs in every corner. A white substance all over the carpet and puke stains on each bed. Took pictures and videos and showed the lady at the front desk. She was beyond rude but did switch my room to a room that was in similar conditions. Had I not traveled over 350miles and not been driving all day with my 3children I would have left the second room and hotel completely. Wasn’t safe for me to drive as exhausted as I was. For this hotel to be in such a great beautiful spot it sure was horrific. The pool was freezing and slimy. Out door hallways and overhangs covered in spiderwebs and dirt. The room itself was not very clean. There were cobwebs in the bathroom We killed a few spiders, and dusty. Rooms need some updating and possibly sound proofing. Many hotels now have a "Netflix" Option on the remote where you can sign into your account. We were disappointed that in this age of technology we did not have that. The view was beautiful, the lady who checked us in and checked us out was Fabulous " Rachel" gets an A+

To say I was very disappointed in this hotel is an understatement. Stayed for 3 days. Now I don't mind not having sheets changed but the first day they took our used towels and never replaced them. Did not make the bed, sweep the floor and frankly there was so much dust on dressers and dirt along the edges of the room you could tell they do little as possible. They did not replace our coffee packets, empty our trash or come back to take our other dirty towels needless to say NO BASIC HOUSEKEEPING at ALL. The brick around the building had so much algae and growth they could at least power wash the place. The windows in the breakfast area were dirty on the bottom it was disgusting never went back after the first day. The entire building needs cleaned. So my final straw was on
