Colton Court Motor Inn

We stayed here one night last week. The hotel room itself is dated, but that didn't bother us. The beds were comfortable, and there was a mini fridge and a coffee maker. The gentleman at the front desk was so kind. We paid off season rates, so we were thrilled. However, once we entered the room, it explains itself why the rates are lower than any other place in Cape May. The room is carpeted and probably should not be due to the awful strong smell of mold and mildew. I have been to some musty hotels, but his one takes it all. It was really bad. We were on the bottom floor, not sure what the second floor was like. It was so bad that anything you brought in the room had to be washed. The location is wonderful, but the smell in the room is so strong it feels toxic to breathe it in for short

During 2025 winter - visited w/family. Quiet, no crowds, etc. Here's my bottom line feedback and review. 1 line summary: Will I return book? NO. Simply because of 3 fundamental reasons: 1. No coffee, no nothing - absolutely. No water even. I feel any hotel who can't understand that its guests needs at the bare minimum few items - is not worth it. 2. EXTREMELY dated. I mean everything there felt like Band-Aid after Band Aid applied to hold the place together. 3. There's NO way to call office/reception. For those who don't know this and me having encountered it - let me mention: In most US states in case you have an emergency and call 911 from your cell phone and help arrives, the hotel can hold you liable and sue you even. You're supposed to call them first and they arrange emergency. Not

Came with family in November on a whim. Morning realized they don't even give coffee. To get coffee one has to drive 5 min. Nope. Everything at face looked clean and decent. But my God - is everything old and held up with Band Aid. Wallpaper - peeling off walls, doors - barely hanging, furniture - horribly scratched, falling apart, corridor used to move room to room - narrow and trouble navigating, door locks - still key based and felt like falling apart. Frankly, other than the location being great and looked reasonably clean - there's NOTHING in this hotel. Oh - the pillows are horrendous.

The manager/owner couldn't have been nicer. The room is clean and the location is perfect. Reasonably priced. I'll be back.

Positive: The location Negative: They promised a ocean view room and it did not have an ocean view. The sheets were not very clean and the bathroom vent was very loud. The shower curtain was dirty.
