The Mermaid and the Whale

We loved our stay at The Mermaid and the Whale. The hosts are very sweet and even left a welcome tote and gave a tour. The house includes everything you can possibly need from yummy smelling soap to beach chairs and toys for the kids. We have never stayed at a house that was stocked with literally everything! The back yard is a perfect hang out spot to have dinner and unwind. The house was in an ideal spot-just a short drive to the beaches and shops. We would love to stay again!

Our family spent an amazing week in this rental. I can’t say enough positive things about the house and the hosts. The space was perfect for three couples and our little ones. Definitely a child friendly home with so many things to keep small children occupied at play. The endless ammenities were above and beyond! There were so many thoughtful touches and accommodations. My sisters and I grew up in CM with an outside shower. It’s a rental must for us. This outside shower was one of our favorite features. It’s easy to feel right at home and relaxed with all of the lovely things they provide from soap to high quality beach bags. Quality is the best way to describe the experience. Our family really enjoyed staying at this place, plenty of bed rooms and bathrooms which made it very nice for our three families to stay together. The outside shower was a big plus, when coming back from the beach. The owners are awesome, very friendly and helpful you won’t find nicer people. They provided so any additional amenities like the beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and toys. The house may be old but it very beautiful and has had many upgrades like central air which may our stay very comfortable. It was only a five minute drive to get to the beach which was great. They have a nice large back yard with a looping driveway which was great place for the kids to play and ride scooters (which they provided). The Mermaid & the Whale is quite simply the single best vacation spot I have been too. As a father of three kids, this place has everything you need already on site. That's one thing that sets it apart -- all you need to bring is clothes. No jamming the car with beach chairs and toys and pack & plays. Everything is already on site. The house itself is gorgeous with multiple areas for kids to play and parents to relax. A great front yard, back porch and the deliriously enjoyable hammocks kept us outside enjoying the sunshine. The refinished kitchen and accompanying gathering room offer a perfect blend for entertaining a group. I could go on and on here, but I have three kids and got no time :).

A Gem of a house!! Not only the house but all the amenities put this in a class of its own. Sara even left her mixer there for me to make a birthday cake while there. The hosts are very nice and a text away. Everything is clarified so well on move in date, no problems. Just bring your toothbrush and clothes and move in. Our grandson loved every minute of his new playground, inside and out. Toys for him to play with everywhere. Even we adults loved being in the huge yard, hammocks, grill, and large table where we had 4 friends, from nearby, come for a birthday dinner. 🎂 We will be back!! So happy to have found this Pearl.
