Coast Hilltop Inn

Super clean, quiet, and safe-feeling. Excellent breakfast available 6am-10am. (Many shut down at 9.) Room darkening drapes (at least on the south side) and the windows open to let in the fresh Palouse air. The price is very reasonable (on non-Cougar home football game weekends anyway!). The staff is very personable and attentive. Easy parking and well-maintained grounds. I have always been very happy with my stays there. (The only reason for four stars on "Rooms" is some of the furniture could use refreshing and the bathroom sink and shower faucets handles are getting worn/loose. But not a deal breaker by any means!)

Positive: Soft bed Negative: The pool, it was too blue, like chemicals, couldn't see the bottom or stairs. Hot tub was cold and doesn't have bubbles.

This hotel is a hidden gem. We didn't need major amenities, just really a place to sleep that was affordable, clean and safe. The whole hotel felt small, personalized and cozy, which we loved. From the entry with the comfy seating area and all the cool old WSU yearbooks, to the halls with local pictures, to the rooms. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating as well. Things just felt different here, and in a good way. Didn't feel huge and corporate, which is a rare find anymore. I will definitely stay here again.

Kelly is at the front desk working hard to help make this hotel appealing. I stayed at the pullman Marriott a while ago and not only had a horrible experience they don't give out anything for breakfast because they have a diner on site. $$$$. At booking i was told the hotel offered a continental breakfast however it was more of a breakfast buffet of everything but meat. It was A+++, and extremely generous with choices. I am so glad to rest here at Hilltop, and not only will I return, I will encourage my future guests to stay here. Thanks for having such a cozy comfortable hotel with a great staff!

The couple of days we were there, the chlorine content in the pools and hot tub were pretty high. The staff there did their best to deal with it with what they had on hand. Unfortunately for me, their beds were entirely too hard so I did not sleep all that well. The kids slept fine however.
