Clay Hill Lodge nestled in the back-country of the Rouge wilderness area is hands down the most scenic, peaceful, tranquil experience any one could ask for ! The hosts Tracy and Martin insure that your time with them is everything you want it to be. Anglers, hikers, hunters, nature lovers, photographers, history buffs NEED to see this place as once you do you will return time and time again just like I have. The lodge and all accommodations are well appointed, real plumbing, heat, Awesome food is served daily while you watch the greatest nature show on earth right out your door ! You wont believe your eyes when you see the view from the lodge of this place. Folks it just does not get any better than this, you will simply be blown away by the hospitality and the beauty of Clay Hill Lodge !

The three previous reviews are older so I wanted to update with a recent experience. Our group rafted down the Rogue River and used the lodge for our final night on the river. While the rooms were fairly clean and comfortable, there were little things that should have been addressed. Cobwebs abounded inside and out. The deck and table outside could have been cleaned and swept, especially when you know you have clients coming in for the night. They had nothing to drink for us except water, coffee and tea in the morning. The food was very basic: tri-tip, lumpy mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, etc. Martin, who I am sure is a nice man, used the "f" word regularly when speaking with us. Some might be offended, but not the best approach in dealing with the public. The price was the same as Para

Stop and check out the dinosaur tree! This is a fun picture spot. Easy to pull off.

I stopped by Clay Hill Lodge after getting separated from the group I was with. They were rafting,I was hiking. Tracy opened the door for me and fed me an excellent steak dinner even though all of my money was on the raft. I continued on to Foster Bar where I camped for the night before reuniting with my friends the next morning. What a wonderful experience and amazing people. My wife and I plan on staying here soon.

Googled the name of this lodge to find it. It is off the grid. Won't get to visit this time to the west but the concept (and the apparent view) is spectacular|Hope some one else has a chance to try it out and can give us the details.
