City Express by Marriott Manhattan Beach

This is our 4th stay at this property but the first since Marriott took it over. Really disappointed in the changes! My guess is that they are going to reconfigure the rooms and do away with the things we liked about this hotel. ||We have stayed in the King 1 bedroom suite before and we love that it's spacious and has a decent sized kitchen area. When we checked in, the desk manager alerted us to the fact that there are no kitchen utensils or dishes of any kind in the room and no coffee maker. Kind of strange to have a kitchen and then essentially be told they don't want you to use it! ||There is no scheduled maid service for the rooms but you can request it. I wonder if that costs extra? We were able to ask for clean towels of course as needed. ||The breakfast has been scaled down and is

I stay at Marriott properties often and was pleasantly surprised by the service and quality at this new hotel in Manhattan Beach. It’s a great addition to the area and has the same reliable comfort I’ve come to expect from the brand. The breakfast was fresh, well-organized, and comparable to other Marriott properties at this price point. There was always plenty to choose from, and everything was kept clean and replenished. My room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable, with two televisions and a floor plan that actually made sense for getting ready. I liked having the sink separate from the shower and toilet so two people could get ready at the same time. The bed was cozy with both down and allergy-friendly pillows, and the couch being a wipeable material felt more hygienic than a fa

It’s a small but budget-friendly hotel. The rooms have all the basics and are super clean. Service is great, and the free breakfast is a huge plus, especially when you’re short on time. It’s also close enough to the beach for a morning run. The only downside was they didn't have toothbrushes available when I asked, but there’s a Target nearby anyway. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice, quiet hotel with friendly staff. Free parking would be nice, but it is what it is. My room was clean spacious. At night, curtains would have been nice to block out the bright light from the driveway lights. I enjoyed the courtyard with the gas/rock 'fireplaces'. The free 24-7 coffee was nice, and the fridge allowed me to keep my preferred range of goodies. Breakfast has limited selection, but was adequate.
