Circus Circus Reno - A Caesars Rewards Destination

This place holds alot of memories for me growing up. As a child, my parents would come here in the late 80s, early 90s and they would give us rolls of quarters while they played slots and table games down below. The days of having flying trapeze and motorcycles rolling in a metal ball are long gone, but kids playing carnival games and walking home with massive stuffed animals still lives on. We stayed on the 28th floor in the Sky Tower and I can't say the rooms are updated. The rooms seem very average, the water pressure was not very strong, but Internet was good.

Positive: Room was clean and relatively comfortable. Check in staff was extremely friendly and helpful, as was maintenance staff. Negative: The casino area itself is pretty dated. We walked next door to the attached Silver Legacy which was much nicer. Bed was hard.

I get that no one stays at Circus Circus to enjoy a quality hotel. You stay here because it may be cheaper, you have kids, or they entice you with a special offer. I arrived well after midnight as the shuttle never showed at the airport. I waited from 11:40pm - 12:20am and it didn't come. Taxi ride was close to $40, uber options weren't much better and would take longer. It was 28 degrees out. The front desk lady was nice and got me checked in right away. My room was #221, right next to the elevator and noisy ice machine. The room was in general disrepair. Wallpaper peeling off, sink mirror rotting, and a glorious hand print against the headboard wall - epic. The next morning I opened the window. Nice view of the HVAC. Oh well, not a huge problem. Avoid room Skytower 2881, not King worthy not even Jester worthy. Pros: large room, sturdy dining table, decent Kcups, the views were nice, second bathroom was handy, bed pillows are nice, slippers and robes are ok. Cons: all tiles floors are slick, the couch is awful, dining chair somewhat better, the dead bugs in the light fixture over the dining table are not appetizing, the heater/a/c system is converted wall units tied to a wall thermostat that has a mind of its own, tv channel selection is poor, the bed is like plywood, one blanket is provided with no comforter so we had to order more blankets but we're only given one. The bathroom is a great place to break your neck or leg. The floor is extremely slippery in and out of the shower. If we had a car I would have gone to Walmart to buy

TLDR: Severe Management Failures and Poor Guest Experience I am staying at Circus Circus Reno tonight and was deeply disappointed by the lack of operational oversight. Despite arriving at 5:00 PM on a Saturday (peak check-in) with a pre-completed QR code, the self-check-in kiosks were down for maintenance. The resulting line was wrapped around the corner and remained stagnant. What was most frustrating was the staffing: only 3 of the 11+ registration desks were open despite the system outage. It was only after I called to complain that they opened additional desks (one more immediately and another desk 10 min after). This reactive approach suggests a lack of proactive management. Why not take those steps before someone had to call? Who is managing this essential process? They don’t care
