Chesapeake Campground

I moved in here because it was the closest to the shipyard. Great choice. To start the facility is great, I had the full set up site 30 amp water and septic. They do have 50 amp and sites with no septic if that’s all that’s left. I ended up staying the full 120 day limit. They have a fully functional buckees style bathroom with warm tiled showers. There is a laundry but it’s limited and people watch their doggy matts in there, but there’s a great laundromat at Great ridge 15 mins away if you drive speed limit. There is lots of shade, huge trees, it’s quiet, you need a security card to get in so no worries about unwanted visitors. The site sits about a quarter mile from the road so no road noise. My daughter loved hand feeding the horses. They have about 30 or so in the stables. I

Have been to campground never had problems other than normal bugs maybe little extra but was worth. But last time had bed bugs and many biting ants. Had someone come out and confirmed, sent to management as I was ask to nothing not a call not a email.. nothing Very disappointing. Next days had to through away all cloths bedding pillows away lot of stuff was there seem last night had to wash through all in back of truck. Slept in truck Only thing I noticed at first was bits there just thought was ants next door lady tried spraying smooth keep ants out but come to find out it was not ants that were problem IT WAS BED BUGS I have through out my mattress bigger problem than I ever imagined All really wanted was at point of leaving was to help get somewhere to stay until could figured out. i could give ZERO STARS I WOULD, ||||Staying at Chesapeake Campground has been one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had! ||||First, getting here is a nightmare—expect to sit in traffic for nearly an hour just to cross a tiny bridge during rush hour.||||The staff is incredibly rude and shows absolutely no consideration for guests. If you’re looking for a quiet, respectful, well-run campground, this is NOT the place. People shoot fireworks at 11 PM, it’s noisy, and the parking situation is horrible, Also you will here other people in there campers screaming at each other if that tells you how close you will be to your neighbors( can hear hole conversations). The spots are so small that if your vehicle can’t fit without sticking into the road even a little, you’ll be “violated”—LITERALLY. M

I stayed one night on my way north but would love to go back in spring or summer and stay several days. Campground is treed and property is 100 acres of horses, chickens, pastures and wood. Also there is a river accross the street you can canoe/kayak. Staff was nice and price was very good.

Bud bugs after few days thought was ants that|Strange when felt like bite could not find any bug. Start looking around under pillows on side beds and walls. There it was not knowing started google search there it was time after time bed bugs. |Had confirmed it was undead bed bugs. Sleep in truck after through it all stuff in back of truck got new clothes took hot shower di not seen to have problem sleeping in truck but next day the itching burning going completely crazy disbelief. Was what was left all info email pictures as well as pictures of what internet said was can’t be wrong after looking up 20 times and having someone look at. Crazy never got text back phone call email . |At time thought would be pretty easy thang to deal with just needed someone to stay not to take to family. Well
