Charlevoix Inn and Suites

Stayed here for work. I booked the room online and when I got checked in I was given a handicap room. I went back to the front desk and asked to be switched because someone else could use that room that actually needed it. She refused to switch me and gave be a condescending tone just for asking. Room was decent, bed comfortable. Overall stay was average.

For this price this is a great hotel. Cheaper than the awful nearby Americinn which we had to leave and move to the Charlevoix Inn. My family has stayed at the Charlevoix Inn probably ten times over the last 15-20 years and it’s always clean and nicely apportioned. It’s not luxury by any means. But clearly the owners care about the furnishings and comfort and appearance. The beds are relatively new and comfortable. The bathrooms are spartan but functional. The bedding is relatively new and clean. The hallways are bright and clean. The staff is nice. The breakfast is fine. The location is good. Definitely recommend especially over the Americinn. My main recommendation is to make all the rooms more accessible with bathroom support bars and higher toilets to accommodate elderly

If you like hearing a herd of elephants walk on the floor above you, this place is for you. If you like being put in an adjoining room without being asked, and then be able to hear the people next door to you, due to the less-than-soundproof door separating the two rooms, then this place is for you. If you enjoy not being looked at, smiled at or even acknowledged that you exist, then you're gonna love this place. I wish I had read the reviews before booking this hotel. The only redeeming qualities this place has is the breakfast and its location, which was great for us. The room smelled stale when we got there. The fluorescent lights above the bed and desk area did not all work. There appeared to be mold in the shower. When we opened up the window, there were a pile of dead flies in the co

Reserved rooms on line for wrestling meet but when we arrived and checked in we found out the pool and hot tub was closed for remodeling the boys were looking forward to the pool they should said on their website that it was closed for a remodel. We would find a different hotel And it could been a little cleaner

We enjoyed our stay.  Very clean, including the pool and hot tub.  The hot breakfast was nice with plenty of options and kept well stocked.  We liked the Garden Area outside to sit.  The beds were a little uncomfortable and the pillow type was somewhat hard but we slept fine.  I would  recommend this hotel.  It’s about maybe a mile and a half from downtown area.
