Would stay here again! Stayed one night during the off season (end of November) for a birthday trip. Stephen was an amazing host, very welcoming, and accommodated dietary restrictions in our full service breakfast. The living room features a lovely fireplace during the cold months and space that we utilized for some board games. We stayed on the first-floor bedroom just off of the shared living room. The room is connected to a full bathroom. The walk from the Inn to Downtown Charlevoix is just 2 blocks. This is not a hotel, so you get the chance to enjoy the character that an older building offers. The owner has taken the time to update the deck to include a ramp for those who are unable to manage the stairs. We were able to park in the small lot outside of the inn.
This is one of two properties that the owners have in Charlevoix. This one is a little farther from town but still walking distance and away from the hustle and bustle. The Great Lakes room faces the street so you hear some traffic but it wasn’t bad. No room darkening shades if that bothers you but we had no trouble sleeping in. Bed was comfy and the entire unit is clean! Terri was great as our hostess. We would definitely consider staying here again.
I spent a lovely night at the Charlevoix House. Terri, the host is friendly and attentive. She steered me toward the best beach to visit nearby. She's knowledgeable about the house and the town. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the location is superb. Breakfast was very nice, especially the fresh fruits.
Terry was the perfect host: welcoming and accommodating without being intrusive. Our room was spacious and well maintained. Breakfast was varied, ample, and delicious. Easy walk downtown through a charming neighborhood. We'll be back!
This is NOT a charming Victorian house but rather a run-down building. It has been poorly maintained including dirty, slippery carpet on the narrow; curving stairway (tricky when carrying up luggage); and rough plaster walls in the bedroom. Our room had a tiny, one-person bathroom that was clearly an add-on (you can see the original, filthy floor inside the bath cabinet). No screens on the single-pane windows in the bedroom on the street side to enjoy the fresh air without attracting bugs in the room. The worst aspect: the house is close to the street which is a main thoroughfare through the town = constant, major traffic noise a few feet from the front of the house! The host, Terri, was the only good thing about this place. Apparently the owner lives in Chicago so it's a good source of in
