Chantico Inn & Suites

We booked a room last minute because our campsite nearby was taken by another person, and we arrive there late at night. The reservation was accepted online instantly, payment made, but once we arrived to the hotel, nobody was there to give us our keys (around 11:30pm). The available number to call answered proposing a room about 1hour away from Chantico Inn after we had already been struggling to find a place to sleep for hours. The person on the phone told us that the room would be refunded, which has never been done even after multiple requests by email. The hotel should not have been accepting the reservation if nobody could be there to welcome us. Poor customer service on this one, as we are still waiting about 150$ worth of a room that has not been provided...

I overpaid and I do not recommend this place to anyone. I booked a room online at a premium price after I called and was told "it's wedding season" and then found out that 2 other friends were paying half the rate I was for the same type of room. Furthermore, when I checked in, I was given the last available room--right off the lobby--literally 10 feet from check in. It did not lock from the hall; it only locked from the inside so I had to enter from a side alley and felt very unsafe doing so as a woman, especially at night. I asked the woman at the front desk for a refund, a discount, or to be moved and was given a phone number to call and the person never returned my calls or texts and voice-mailbox was full. Horrible. Premium price/worst room.

If you're looking for a clean place, reasonably priced in this area, look no further! My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night (we immediately wished we could extend it after we arrived hahah), and it was lovely. Karina (I hope I'm spelling it right) was EXCELLENT, and greeted us with a friendly, genuine warmth. She had our registration paperwork ready to go, engaged us in light conversation, and answered all our questions about the area and the hotel without hesitation. The hotel itself is aesthetic, well-designed, and charming. The type of place that makes you want to wake up early just to enjoy it a little longer. Without a doubt, we'll be back and I hope they keep doing what they're doing :)

The room had a musty aroma, hazy lighting, dusty furniture (headboard, lamp, dresser), and broken bed (in suit #2). We ended up requesting suit #7 bed because it had better lighting and the bed was stable. Overall, the bed very clean and comfortable. The toilet, tub, and sink were very clean. I must say that the young lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. We needed more blankets and brought us cozy clean blankets.
