Casa Del Mar Beachfront Suites

Stayed in number 152. The condo is in poor shape. Flooring is soft and the floor bounces when you walk down the halway from the front door. The floor in kitchen is soft and feels like it could fall through. The condo is dirty. Found blood stains on bedding and tried to swap it out with other bedding and found it to be moldy. Had to call the contact who had some bedding delivered the next. We had to buy some throws at dollar general for the night. There was blood on bathroom door frame, old dried food under microwave, food and trash under the tv cabinet in living room, mold around bathtub, floors nasty around toilet, and the walls were nasty. Terrible stay. The location is on several travel sites. Not just VRBO and it's not upfront that you might be passed off to some individual owner. Its hit or miss. My other family members booked through their site and still got a 3rd party owner. Horrible stay and the pictures here don't look like the property. How can you know? Just look at the water. We all know galveston water is nothing close to blue. Fake pics. I got a molded, infested room and the front desk offered me a bottle to clean with...for a price. Imagine after booking and driving for a little down time to pay for cleaning supplies to clean and stay at what you thought was their location. The buildings and the surrounding grounds are well-maintained and visually appealing. The room is small but offers a great view from the balcony, has fast internet, and is located in a safe neighborhood. The ocean is just across the street, and there are many entertaining places and stores nearby.

We stayed here early august for one night. Parking was ok during the day, at night there was not many spots. We parked on the very outside of the lot when we got back after dinner. The walk to the beach is ok, NOT easy if you are quite pregnant as it’s up hill just fyi. You will be wading a decent amount. Ask how I know 😅 The room was nice, big enough for 3 adults and a 10 yo, my son was not able to climb the bunks, my sister was to worried about stability and space to fit on the top one so my son ended up sleeping on the couch, but loved having the tv. Full bed was SO comfy. Wish I could have brought it home. The view was amazing! Loved having a kitchen. Did not go to pool. The location is great. The only interaction we had with staff was to get our parking permit, they were nice. The rooms were clean. The pool was nice and had an outdoor shower to clean the sand off. The reason this place will not get 5 stars from our family is because the size was a little misleading. For us, this was booked through AirBnB and advertised as able to fit 4 adults, 2 kids with queen bed, twin bunk beds, and a pull out couch. The “twin” bunk beds were in the hall and definitely NOT twin beds, but smaller. The pull out couch was the most uncomfortable pull out I’ve ever slept on. This place would have been great for a couple or a couple with younger children. I do not agree with other reviews that the hall beds would fit an adult.
