Captains Cottage Suites

What a cool location! Near bars & restaurants..the GH channel and state park. Beautiful room. The ONLY negative is the bed was very firm. Not comfortable. Your paying a premium for the location. Get that fixed and it's PERFECT. Very satisfied!

My husband and I loved Captains Cottage, very clean, lovely, and a great location! There is a small kitchenette, enough for our purposes, since we ate all of our meals out. We stayed in the first floor front condo, and will definitely go back!

These cottages were absolutely perfect for a long weekend! The location was walking distance from downtown area, and by the Grand River to watch boats. The room was perfect for two people! Little kitchen area with microwave, stove and small refrigerator, also included plates and cups! They left coffee for the keurig, waters and popcorn for us! I'm definitely coming back!

Captain's Cottage is a big ball of awesome, in an awesome shell, covered in awesome sauce. Everything was perfect. Great layout, plenty of space, in great condition, clean, etc. My wife and I loved it. Walked everywhere as it is SO close to the waterfront, shops, restaurant, etc. If somebody was to tell me I had to break off a little part of one of the points in one of the stars, it would be that when you are drying your hands, the hand towel holder squeaks. That would be it.

I stumbled upon the Captain's Cottages online when looking for more affordable locations, while still a good location, in Grand Haven. I can't recommend this place enough! Perfect for a couple, or a couple with a toddler or small child. We stayed in the Upperdeck Suite for 3 nights over Father's Day weekend with our 21 month old. It was perfect for us. It has a small balcony you can enjoy a drink on, watch the sunset/rise over the water, or even see glimpses of the nightly waterfront fountain show. The small, galley kitchen has the essentials and some snacks. This allowed us to forego buying breakfast every morning. We rented the beach chairs and umbrella for 2 of the days, and they were honestly great quality -looked brand new! Definitely recommend renting if you'd prefer not to travel wi
