Customer Reviews
Of the many hotels I've stayed at locally, the staff and safety and general cleanliness would have put this location at the top of my list for another stay. Special recognition for the lovely, helpful staff who were an absolute pleasure. The location and the size of the room and the view were great, the affordable price felt right given the property is older and no-frills. However, I will not stay at this location again. The dealbreaker was that the mattress and bedframe were extremely loud, left our backs aching on the second night, and (the biggest problem for me) there was no sealed mattress cover to protect against bedbugs or other contamination between guests. I loved everything else about this location and I wish it didn't come down to the bed - but it does, so I really urge manage
Positive: "" Negative: Needs upgrades. 1 elevator that is slow and small. Ceiling in room bathroom was dilapidated. Tub floor was slick
Clean and cozy. The Capes Hotel is run by friendly helpful staff and has clean comfortable rooms. We have been around 3 or 4 times now and every time has been a delight. We get the jacuzzi tub room because it is so nice to have a big tub to relax in during the off season (we visit va beach a lot to see Navy family). The restaurant down stairs is run by lovely staff and has very good food. The crab omlette and crab eggs Benedict is very yummy! The blackened tuna is also excellent! While the restaurant is not part of the hotel stay and the hotel does not have breakfast or food accommodations it doesn't advertise as if it does have breakfast. I believe this is one of the best hotels to go to on the va beachfront if you're on a budget and not in need of fancy over the top accommodations.
Location on boardwalk was a huge plus as was being on the ocean. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance (check with your hotel staff). City cleans beaches/boardwalk daily. Room was basic with a great balcony view. Rooms are in need of updating. Staff was helpful and pleasant.
Tell them NAUTICA sent you! It’s a small hotel, the personalities make up for the amenities! The staff were great, no complaints at all. Marisol, the housekeeper, had it cleaner than a boutique hotel! Lori was very helpful in making reservations! A true gem! Vicky made sure we were accommodated every night! Also, Crystal was always cleaning and giving us tips about the hotel in general! All in all, a surprise birthday trip surprised me also. If it’s out of season, definitely try this gem in VA Beach, during the summer it’ll be full and I just know it. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!
