We used to love this place for its pine woods and beautiful scenery, but every time we visited, we got bitten by TICKS. Because of that, we’ve decided not to spend our summer there anymore- I don’t want to risk tick-borne illnesses like Lyme disease or encephalitis
The setup in the tent area is inconvenient and too communal. Parking spaces are too far from the sites and you have to walk through the campsites of others to get to yours if it's in the back. The shower building is also WAY too communal!!! No privacy at all getting into and out of the showers. There's no place to put soap or anything else while you're in the shower except on the floor. All of your belongings are sitting out in a common area, exposed to potential thieves. The showers were warm but the temperature couldn't be adjusted. It was almost too warm for me. And the water flow was on a 10-second timer, then you'd have to push the button again for another 10 seconds. The setting of the campground was nice though.
I can get over the parking I can even get over the on top of everyone in the campground. They are so together it is hard to have your own space. But..co.e on with the showers. Where is one supposed to hang your towel while showering? The curtain barely covered the opening and you have to leave all of your stuff out in the communal space. You are forced to shower and dress with complete strangers . What was worse? A lady had her not young son (maybe 11) in the shower to sit on the bench and wait for her. This is not acceptable. Where are you to put things. If you dont want privacy this is the place to be. They have more space to put your stuff in bathroom stalls
Campsite near the beginning of the America Discovery trail. Expensive @ $32 with no wifi or common room that you could charge appliances. Shower/toilet facilities and good walks into the State park. Can see deer roaming at sunset
Pretty good camping, only downside is they had a water problem during our stay and it lasted 3 days.
