Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA Resort

We stayed this past weekend in a deluxe cabin in the 800's. First off, we loved the safety & freedom for all the kiddos, front office staff, and loved the beautiful beach! Unfortunately there are a couple of things needing addressed- the cabins were really gross. Our feet were straight black and we had to wear our shoes around from all the dirt & stickiness on the floors. There was also dog fur everywhere, like large tufts. Our kids ended up living on benadryl for 4 days, from the sheer amount of dog fur in the couches/beds/floor/porch. Super sad not feeling comfortable and cozy on vacation. Lastly, our entire family went to the bar on a slow, early Friday. We stayed 11/5&6/25 - Not peak season. This place was huge and had every kind of accommodation available. Our site was near the restrooms which were clean. All the fun activities had wrapped up for the season, but I could see having a lot of fun here in peak season. We did walk down to the beach - dogs had a great time!

Great campground! Sites were very well maintained and the staff was amazing! Restaurant and bar are a very nice option looking over the water. If you are going for the beach this is not the place but the rest of the amenities are top notch and the water is nice to look at. Good for small children as there are no waves and the water isnt more than 2' deep 300 yards off the beach. Our family will definitely go again.

It was a big Rv park, it has a large camp store, with an ice cream shop and pizza place. They sell camping supplies, snacks, drinks, also have Beer and wine. The park is gated which I liked . The sites vary, from very small to larger, depends on how much you want to spend. From $115-$250, $115 gets a small grass area with picnic table and very close to your neighbor, they also face the same way, neighbor can see all. I got the larger space with gravel, concrete patio, table and chairs, picnic table and fire pit, and large site , but still facing neighbors. Are site was on the end by the beach, pool and restaurant. There is a restaurant and bar on the beach and the sunset was good. They have bath house and laundry area. I cannot say enough good things about it here. Everyone was so friendly. Cabin was very clean and honestly the bed in there was probably the most comfortable of any cabin I’ve been in at a campground. Rory was the absolute best at the restaurant and I know it sounds crazy to recommend a hot dog but it was the best hot dog I’ve had in my whole life. My only complaint is that people do not seem to understand keeping your pets on a leash at all times (while also holding that leash!) and cleaning up after your dogs. People like that ruin it for the rest of us. Someone dog literally ran onto our site and the people just laughed and said my bad. Dogs are never as trained as you might think.
