Candlewood Suites West Memphis by IHG

I stayed at the Avid/Candlewood Suites last night, and this was my first time at an Avid hotel. The property appears to be quite new, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location in West Memphis is very convenient, right next to the freeway, with a Cracker Barrel restaurant just steps away. The lighting in the room was excellent for both work and reading. The room was very quiet. There is also a convenient market kiosk in the lobby to purchase drinks and snacks. My only criticism is that the breakfast area design is somewhat confusing. It is located in the lobby rather than in a clearly designated space or room, and when entering the area, the plates and hot food are positioned farthest from the entrance rather than near where guests walk in. Im a traveling healthcare worker and I travel alot to all states. Five months ago I stayed here and it was fantastic!.. 5 stars hands down! Unfortunately I cannot say the same this trip. I would say it dropped to a 3. Im truly amazed it only took 5 months for this hotel to go down hill. Had to swap rooms 3 times which is very unusual. First room, it was evident that it was not clean thoroughly. Coffee grounds all on the kitchen counter and an awful smell in the room. Bathroom, oh my gosh... something was floating in the commode and the shower was all stained up with something. I Notice in each room that I had changed to, I dont know if this is a new thing now but there isnt any bars of soap. They only have the pump bottles of soap and lotion locked down to the wall which is fine but it wa

Can I just say it this way, if I could take the mattress home with me, I would have. These were some of the best and most comfortable mattresses I have ever had at a hotel. The suite was fully stocked and very nice. The bathroom was very nice. I love that they have soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower and they were nice. The suite is very large. We arrived at nearly 11 pm and the front desk person was so kind and welcoming. She was a god send to tired people. |There is a hot breakfast that typically has eggs, bacon and potatoes as well as other things. I would stay here over and over in the future.

The experience was amazing! The room was clean beautiful and just what I needed for that weekend. From walking into the lobby being greeted by the staff in the Beautiful aesthetics that were breathtaking. The room was very comfortable, everything you needed was there. I recommend you to stay at least two nights and I promise you, you wouldn't want to leave when it's time for checkout.

Some hotels in Memphis are not safe so be careful about the drug dealers and homeless trying to carjack, but this hotel, again, is VERY SAFE and is next to a Cracker Barrel and LaQuinta. The parking lot is CLEAN and has cameras and lots of LIGHTS AT NIGHT. The street is clean and well taken care of. 2. The rooms are clean, are just like the photos, and smelt great! It is worth the price! The lobby is CLEAN! To save you time and research: 9 minutes from the convention center. 22 minutes from Memphis Airport.
