Candlewood Suites Salina by IHG

The hotel is okay if you are planning to stay for more than three days. I believe most people who look for hotels in Salinas come for work, it doesn’t seem to be a place for leisure, as there is literally nothing to do around. This property is convenient for business travelers because the rooms have a small kitchen, which allows you to cook instead of always eating out. For someone like me, who travels constantly, that is a big plus. However, breakfast is not included, which is a disadvantage for those who prefer not to cook. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, but the hotel overall feels old. The gym is very small, and the service leaves much to be desired. I travel for work and always enjoy staying here. The rooms are always clean and the beds and pillows are very Comfortable. The staff is amazing especially Amber the Manager she makes you feel at home when you’re not always very accommodating and takes care of everything.

Overall room was clean but one of our rooms toilet got stuck and wouldn’t flush. We had an appointment and had to leave so were not told when we got back if said toilet was still stopped up. Also key cards were not working. The night worker had Not been told anything about the toilet and was telling us we did not know what we were talking about. She was argumentative and rude. Was told when booked that there was a breakfast included but same person at night said no there is not any breakfast at this Hotel type.

I was there for a plant turnaround and spent over 6 weeks, the kitchen although small is ideal for long stays. Rooms were comfortable and front desk and employees very friendly and helpful. Free laundry is also great for longer stays, although people leaving washing/drying in the machines after finished washing an issue.

We stayed here on our trip back from Denver to Oklahoma. Nothing fancy but it’s a great place to stay with dogs - and we have 2 little pups. The rooms have a mini kitchen which worked out well since we tend to “eat in” when traveling with our dogs. They also put us in a room close to an outside door which made it handy for taking our dogs outside when needed. Staff was friendly and the location is close to several restaurants who offer “ take out”.
