Candlewood Suites Houston Medical Center by IHG

I checked in today have a room on third floor and I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. It all depends what’s happening that you’re used to being around and how friendly you are. I personally believe every hotel is gonna have some type of issue the only thing I will say is the pool is out of service, but I love how it has a kitchen. I love how they have the towels. Everything was stocked they even offered me water when I got there. And although the shuttle buses are not working at the moment, they are accommodating you for that price so you still get it back friendly service they were very helpful and there is no roaches at all in my room. I haven’t seen one. I’ve been here over 10 hours.

The staff was friendly during check-in, but upon opening the door to my non-smoking room, it smelled like cigarette smoke, felt musty, and there were roaches. The sofa bed was so dirty and uncomfortable I sent my son downstairs to ask for a pillow and extra blankets and they stated that they didn’t have any blankets and only gave him one pillow we decided to go to dinner, and return later. Upon returning to my room, I just couldn't stay there anymore—not even for one night. The smell of the room and the fact that there were roaches in the A/C unit and walls made me check out immediately. Furthermore, the parking lot didn't feel safe at all. When I checked out, I asked for a receipt or a paper confirmation of my checkout, but they refused and told me they would email me one. I still have n

We have stayed at this hotel for 3 years for the Houston rodeo. This year, the stay was horrible. Upon arrival there was a foul smell in the hall and it triggered my allergies and my sons. So much so that, he needed a breathing treatment that night. Night 2- I was cooking food to take to the barn and warm up in the crockpot. As soon as I started cooking, roaches LITERALLY started crawling out from the stove top and back splash. It was so late in the evening that I just sprayed Lysol. I threw the food I was cooking away. The last night there was roaches in the bathroom and even when I opened the fridge door. Gross!!!! In the morning upon checking out we noticed out truck had gotten broken into. Something expensive was stolen and we had to report it to the cops. We aren’t the kind of people

Positive: One of the 3 employees that I had contact with was wonderful. Negative: First, I was in room 203. The whole floor stunk like weed, urine, smoke, sweat, alcohol. It was horrible. Our room did NOT have a phone, there was hair all in the bath rub, water marks all over the place, it smelled horrible. All night, we were being

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND It really sucks to give a bad review, but this place deserves it. IHG properties are typically decent. This is NOT one of those properties. I would NOT recommend staying here. We ended up paying about the same at another hotel after getting a refund here The entire property smells like it has been underwater at some point. Moldy and mildew smells. The beds were not clean. The primary beds didn't have hotel standard mattresses. The only bright spot was the poor lady at the front desk, Jessica. Have a feeling it's not the first time she's dealt with those types of complaints or refunds on the spot. IHG really needs to take a look at this property as it is not up to the standards you would expect from one of their properties.
