Wow! After 50 years of camping, I can honestly say Callies Lake and Campground my be THE best campground I've ever stayed at. From offering a variety of full hook-up to primitive sites set on an amazing piece of land with a good majority bordering their beautiful lake, to all the extras that makes this place so special: the smell of homemade biscuits baking in the office in the morning; the communal fire pit; the maintained and level sites; a history that warms the heart; the perfect location for access to all the area has to offer; kind and considerate guests; an outdoor stage for summer concerts. Callies made you feel like you were staying with family — which was evident by the circles of friends and families that sprang up during our stay. It took me back to my own childhood — where kid

The people here are super nice and the food is really good. They do charge extra for the wifi. We did enjoy our stay here, enough that we came back a couple weeks later when we were in the area again, however, the second time around it had snowed and that's where the access issues come into play. The driveway up is pretty steep, and when things are normal it's not much of an issue but once it snowed, I couldn't make it back up the hill, and got stuck, and slid back down the hill in my truck and trailer. It was scary. But one of the guys came out and helped me out thankfully!!

Callie’s is our favorite place to camp in Red River Gorge, and we've been coming back for years. There are tons of tent camping spots, so it rarely feels overcrowded and it’s easy to find a peaceful spot with plenty of room to spread out. The entire campground is extremely clean, from the bathrooms to the grounds, and it's completely safe walking around at all hours. The staff is genuinely friendly, the kind of people who go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. On top of all that, the pricing is very reasonable.

Been going to Callie's for a few years now. It's honestly one the best campgrounds I've been to. Conveniently located down the street from Nada tunnel and close to most back country by way trails. Facilitates are great. Every weekend there's something getting BBQ'd and the rest of their food is awesome as well. I'll always find some reason to make it out there!

Family Friendly campground. We have an RV and the spots are gravel but level. The shaded tree areas that we seen seemed to be the primitive campground and would not accommodate an RV. We booked last minute and took what they had open. They serve food onsite at their office/kitchen area and have a HUGE smoker where they cook the Ribs & pulled pork that they sell. We did not eat at the store but other campers told us the food was very good! We tried to buy ice at the store and was told their ice machine had been broke for a long time and they did not have any ice. : ( There is a small playground for kids and a very small lake to fish or swim. We did get in the water using a concrete slab that the sign identified as the swimming area. The concrete slab as you enter the water is cover
