Cahoons Cottages

I stayed in one of the efficiencies August 7 thru 14, 2022, and never having been to the OBX before didn't know quite what to expect. Driving down from Connecticut was a haul. Checkin was a breeze. ||Everyone at the store that also serves as the office was very polite and friendly. Always greeted with a smile and a hello.||My efficiency was perfect for myself, but traveling with a partner - well, it might be a little tight unless you really, really love each other. Luckily the beach is just outside. Everything was clean. I wanted for nothing. In fact, after one trip to Food Lion I stayed put. It was so calm and peaceful. ||If I have one small criticism, my front window had no screen, so open windows at night had to be replaced by the air conditioner. Best place to stay in the Outer Banks! Cottages are always clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need! Location and price cannot be beat! We love Cahoons and look forward to our time here every summer!

We spent the week in cottage 7 which is oceanfront. You cannot beat the view. The house was immaculately cleaned and provided everything we needed for the week. The market on site is top-notch... If you stay here you must have one of their deli sandwiches, you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back annually

Cannot say enough about this amazing hidden gem. We stayed in efficiency 3A and it was so cute, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen and supplies were great for helping us to save money by making our own breakfast and lunches, and the market is right there. They really do have everything you need. Ms. Renee, the owner, was always around and made us feel so welcome asking if everything was ok. We were shocked that the beach really is right there with how affordable it was also. Jeanette’s Pier is right next door, and we saw phenomenal sunrises. Cahoon’s is on the private beach side so it doesn’t get too crowded. There were quite a few restaurants and shops in walking distance which was really nice, the outlet mall is right there too, just across on the Sound side. We can’t wait to come back!!

Wonderful! Check in was easy. The cottage (number 5) spacious and clean. They did extra sanitizing at the cottage and store. Full kitchen (and grill) for saving money on eating out. Owners, staff and all the other checked in people were super friendly. Wifi was stable for us to get some work done. |Best of all - quick walk onto the public beach! Jeannette's Pier literally next door for a walk or fishing.|Water was low - easy for wading and swimming. But also wavy - lots of good body boarding, surfing & skim boarding. It was off season but plenty of space on the beach and clean. Definitely recommend and plan to go back!
