Budget Inn Albany

I see quite a few bad reviews for this place. Let me tell you, that was NOT my experience here! Unique crescent shaped 2 story bldg with 1st floor being sunk half below parking lot level & 2nd floor around 6-8 steps above parking lot. My room on the 2nd floor very clean & much larger than I expected. The shower was good, large refrigerator, microwave, nice TV, A/C with remote control, no sign of any bugs, quiet the one night I was there (Saturday) The woman I talked to when booking the room and when I checked in was extremely friendly and helpful, she told me if there was anything that I needed to call her and just seemed to be a really good human. All in all I was impressed!

What an interesting setup. It feels more geared toward long term stays. Navy sheets, which means nothing gets bleached. Burns on the carpet. Cement brick walls. Crescent shaped two-story building with a prison-like courtyard where people would smoke, drink, and bbq. The rooms weren't very quiet. The double sliding glass door surely doesn't help. Some guests were cool, but there was one man who'd talk loudly and yell all night, then a woman who'd talk loudly about very inappropriate things you wouldn't want to hear. Parking is first come first serve. Check in lady was super cool though. They apparently sell charging cables dirt cheap and I should've picked up a few.

Emily is a crazy liar. Tweakers live here, illegals live here, alcoholics live here. Nobody cleans anything. The rooms smell like a prison cell and the courtyard is exactly like a prison yard. I can not fathom that people pay over $2500/month to stay here but it’s because social programs all pay the rent for these low life dirt bags. If this place burned to the ground it would only increase the value of the surrounding properties. Emily is a lying conniving narcissist like any woman.

I stayed here for two weeks and someone made daily complaints about my room, I have no idea what was going on my wife would work I would walk my dog. Finally woke up one morning and heard lady next door smoking outside on the bench telling someone on the phone how I was CURRENTLY cresting noise disturbances, it was the craziest things I’ve seen she ended up calling the police and my wife me and my dog were immediately kicked out no deposit returned. No other tenants ever came out of their rooms except to walk a dog in the hot prison courtyard. I was waiting to leave Oregon and I’m so damn happy I did.

Cheapest hotel in town so you get what you pay for. Rooms are ragged, but clean at least. The Internet is so bad that they might as well get rid of it altogether and save themselves some money. If you get a room on the second floor you get your own back patio which is pretty cool. The staff is great, they're clearly doing the best they can with the resources they have. All in all if you're not going to be in the room much or don't really use the internet then this place is worth it. If you wanna do anything that requires a decent internet connection then maybe go to a different hotel.
