Broadway Motel

Worst possible place in eureka staff was very rude. we rented a room but found it upon entry grossly dirty with exposed wires we were denied a parking spot close to the room plus a group of several males across from our room made us feel unsafe (we are seniors) after 10-15 minutes in room we decided to leave but were denied a refund of the room cost because over 20 min had passed (we went to eat before room entry) Be careful think twice if you elect to stay. it should get 0 stars or less.

A few things to know before I make comments about this motel. ||||For one, I was nearing the end of a 5-week, 4500-mile solo motorcycle trip when I landed in Eureka. I had a large bag on my back seat which contained all the necessary gear to camp out, something I did periodically on this trip, so I was – if necessary – prepared to camp out in Eureka. ||||Additionally, my “introduction” to the potential price of nightly housing occurred about 10 miles north of Eureka, in a small town named “Arcata”, when I stopped at a Hampton Inn & Suites. I’m a Hilton Honor’s member and thus had hope of being able to get a nice room for a decent price. After all, I’d stayed at a duplicate property in a small Washington town and it was only 32k points, how bad could it be here? I was stunned when they told

This is best the best deal ever, you will not find a motel more affordable than this. I recommend it to all. The most affordable, at your convenience. Beautiful staff. Very kind and respectful. Clean and comfortable, it's a castle. Please feel free to call them it's a real I guaranteed. You won't regret. I have been here 3 months. It's a blessing. GOD BLESS THEM.

If I was giving a rating based solely on customer service, then this place would get a five star. If I was giving a rating based solely on the quality of room, then I would give a -10. The walls were cracking and peeling paint, the wooden trim had strips where tape had been ripped off and taken the coloring off as well. The pillows were stained and there were burn holes in the bed cover. There was a missing knob on the inside of the bathroom door and small black curly hairs stuck all over the door. Instead of a curtain for the bathroom window, they screwed a pillowcase into the wall. Honestly I didn’t want to touch anything in there. The price and customer service were the only redeeming qualities. Also it’s only a 30 min walk to downtown, so that’s a plus.

I walked in, flipped on the light switch and nothing happened. Then I struggled to find a switch on a tiny lamp they set out amidst a tangle of cords. The light turned on and a roach scurried by my foot. The floors were sticky and there was no curtain on the bathroom window. The comforter was full of holes and the sheets and pillows were visibly dirty. I took a shower and water came from the bath faucet and the shower head, the temperature has three settings, lava hot, Luke warm, and cold. I walked out of the bathroom and noticed THREE roaches crawling on top of the bed. It was then I decided I was better off sleeping in the car. I went to the office to find it abandoned and noticed a sign which read no refunds after 10 minutes. I put the key in the mail slot and left. Maybe they will use
