I spent a weekday in the Yellow Room at the Brampton 1860 during the holiday season, and the experience stayed with me long after I left. Brampton 1860 is one of those rare places that actually delivers on the promise of escape. From the moment we arrived, the world outside faded away. We stayed in Marley’s Cottage and it was incredible. The red door entrance from our parking space felt like stepping into a secret hideaway. Inside we had a fireplace, a tub on the screened back patio, and a porch swing where we enjoyed our morning coffee. It was private, quiet, and felt like our own little world.||Breakfast in the Manor House was outstanding with fresh eggs from their own chickens, and the daily afternoon tea became one of our favorite parts of the day. We spent Valentines day weekend at The Brampton Inn. The cottage we stayed in was amazing. They provided wonderful bathrobes and plenty of towels. There was plenty of coffee and tea provided in the room along with wine and drinking glasses. Not paper cups like most places provide. We had someone stack the fireplace both days with fresh wood. All we had to do was light the fire. The package we had included 2 days of an incredible breakfast. The second day an amazing lunch was delivered to our room by the staff but we chose to eat on the porch of the main building because of the incredible view. We also did the wine pairing at The Kitchen in town and it was an incredible experience. The staff and the owner who we had the chance to meet where incredible. The service was top notch. Friendly

My husband and I stayed here in one of the cottages for our honeymoon and we couldn’t be happier, everything here is truly five stars. The food was delicious, the cottage a beautiful intimate retreat and all the staff were so warm and welcoming. We loved our time and will be back!

Spent a very relaxing evening in the second floor Blue Room between Christmas and New Year's--very generous space with a gas fireplace. The first floor, parlor-like rooms are gorgeous, particularly decorated for the holiday season. The breakfast is full and delicious and every staff member was welcoming. The property and grounds have an intimate feel--the Inn is quite charming and has easy access to some nice dinner options in downtown Chestertown only a few minutes away. I look forward to our return next year.
