Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Faribault

I recently had a 6 day, excellent stay at this hotel from start to finish. We had a large group in town for a funeral. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional and always happy to help. My room was comfortable and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after our long days. Everything exceeded expectations and I truly felt valued as a guest. I have stayed here numerous times before and I would absolutely stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great service and a comfortable stay. This was one of my worst hotel experiences of all time, and I travel at least twice a month! First, it is filthy. Second, there is no elevator. Lastly, nothing works. Not the TV, not the hot tub, not the fridge, not the deadbolt, not the fireplace. There were exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. To top it off, someone tried to enter our room at 12:30 at night. This was all brought to the front desk person's attention, only to be met with complete indifference with a touch of snark. She did not care one iota that our sense of security was eviscerated. She did not care that everything was broken. In fact, she said that everything in the hotel is broken, just like my attitude. She mostly hid in her dark office anyway. Went up for a family reunion. Stayed here many times before never had an issue until this past weekend. Got the king suite and had our 5month old puppy with us. Got into our room and turned ac unit on to cool the room down cause it was like 90 degrees and super humid and smelt bad in the room. Went to dinner and took our pup on a walk to let the room cool down. Got back and never cooled down got actually more humid in there. Asked the front desk to come look at it and they did for about 3mins and said ok I fixed it give it time. Well we went and bought a fan to blow on our pup. Tried to sleep in that hot room cause the hotel was all booked up. Next day went and told them it hasn’t cooled down at all. The guy came back looked at it and said he would call a professional to come look at it. W

Right as we got in to check in the guy at the counter told us the fire place was down in our room which was ok we understood. The room was dirty prior to us getting there. There was urine on the step of the jacuzzi, mysterious sticky stains on the floor,side trim, and side tables, the tub took forever to drain and in front of the fridge was mysterious stains and specks of something. Found food and trash that wasent from us behind a side table. Remote came with a peeling off piece of duct tape with complimentary pieces of hair that wasent ours. In the listing it said sound proof walls but definitely was not accurate. Heard people having a party all night. Bed was comfy though and customer service wasent bad.
