Bluestem Hotel Torrance Los Angeles, an Ascend Collection Hotel

If you blinked, you might have missed this place! It appears to be a motel that was renovated and turned into a pretty decent place. We were there for a family reunion, and this hotel was just a few blocks away from our event, so the location was perfect. The rooms are up to date and were clean. The only thing I didn't care for was the bathroom has a sliding door, covering both the sink and toilet area ( looks like it was once an open area), but the slider would not completely close, and the same way in my daughter's room. The bathroom door where the toilet is was removed, so without the main slider closing completely, the privacy becomes an issue. We’ve stayed at this hotel twice now when visiting Gracie University, not only is the location brilliant but it’s been super reliable both times. ||The staff are wonderful, really accommodating and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with great beds and the lobby area is great with indoor and outdoor seating perfect for enjoying a bit of sun or getting work done. ||We also used the fitness room, whilst small, it’s functional with a large cable machine for weights, private and feels fresh! ||Really happy with our stay and we’d love to thank Nicole, Maria and Eroz who have helped us during our stay. Super Clean Hotel, very cute local experience. Loved the free gated parking and all the amazing customer service. I use the Cpap machine and Mr. Richmond went out of his way to help me get distilled water for my machine. Above and Beyond !

The hotel looks recently renovated. Everything is clean, staff are friendly, rooms have everything you need and the lobby and outdoor courtyard are lovely. |No water in the rooms because there is a tea station with water in the lobby- we loved this thoughtful touch.|We stayed on the 2nd level and no issues, but my parents stayed in the 1st level and said the sound proofing was not great as they could hear the plumbing from upstairs. Wasn’t a huge annoyance though and we were all very satisfied with our stay! Thank you :)

The hotel is excellent. Lobby is nice and the outdoor patio is lovely with the firepit. Our room was an executive room which was very spacious and comfortable. The only downside was the road traffic but once we turned on the white noise, it was perfect. Will definitely stay there again.
