Blue Sail Inn

This 5-star review is long overdue. For over 30 years, the Blue Sail Inn-Hotel has been the backdrop for our family’s Spring Break memories. While there are many beautiful hotels in Morro Bay, nothing quite compares to the comfort and warmth we find here. Between the friendly staff, the balcony room with a view of the town and the lush greenery, we felt a sense of relaxation the moment we arrived. The Blue Sail Inn-Hotel is centered by all local shops and restaurants along with local site seeing adventure. Our favorite ritual is spending time on the balcony once we arrive from our long drive from southern California. There is nothing like the feeling of the warm sun and sea breeze on your face while listening to the distant sound of the ocean and the seals. Our daughter would enjoy her lun

Our stay at Blue Sail Inn was very good. The view of Morro Rock from our balcony was wonderful. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with plenty of room. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There is not a continental breakfast but a small snack is provided. The location is just off the main street and conveniently located to area restaurants. There is the availability of covered parking. We would stay here again.

Positive: Location is excellent. Close to everything. Negative: Check in person was a little cold and seemed a little irritated that we got there a few minutes early. The rest of the staff was more friendly.

Hubby had an online class he didn’t want to stay in our home office for, so we booked a stay here. Absolutely exceeded our expectations! Lisa at the front desk was absolutely phenomenal, so friendly and helpful, incredibly accommodating for my husband (who is blind) and his guide dog. Room was way more spacious than we were anticipating, clean and plenty of amenities including free water bottles whenever we asked for them. We also got lucky in that we were on the same level and building as the office, and got a fantastic view of Morro rock, Embarcadero st, and the harbor. The price was a little steep, but we found out that there was a car show, a surfing competition, the trick or treat on Main Street AND the witches kayak event so frankly I’m amazed we got a room this good! Hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking Embarcadero Ave. Wonderful at night after everything closed to just have the sliding door to the balcony open and listen to the sounds of the ocean. Able to walk to most places on the Embarcadero within 5 minutes. Dorns restaurant is next door and a great place to eat. Had a small to go breakfast at the hotel which was ok. The bad was that the ac didn't work at all. Having the sliding door open helped with letting cool air l. Room and bathroom were a bit outdated relative to what we paid although it was comfortable. Way overpriced especially since the breakfast was mediocre and the room outdated. This is why I knocked it down one star. I would stay here again largely because of the convenient location
