Blue Ridge Motel

Don't do it. This is a cheap motel. Some of these reviews say 50's style, retro...no. It's run down. I chose nonsmoking because it was nice outside. I thought going outside would be ok. And it was. However, the odor of cigarette smoke would only enhance the smell in the room and had I smoked in there, I doubt anyone would have noticed. The mattress was stained. The floor was carpeted, but I left slippers on. The furniture is old and worn out. There's an odor. There's a slight step down into the bathroom, but not purposeful, it's kinda sinking. The water pressure is low, but it's hot. It's the only place I have showered and felt dirty afterward. I felt dirty waking in the morning. The toilet isn't solidly bolted to the floor, it wiggles. The staff was great, location was easy to access and property was clean & well maintained. The parking lot was easily viewed from the office for security. I love this park in front of your room type properties. The property is older so the room is smaller, especially the bathroom & shower (by "modern" standards). They are still using a physical key with only a knob lock & night latch. Heat/A/C is a "window unit" directly by the bed. The room had that older "musty" smell upon entry that quickly went unnoticed. The shower would suddenly turn hot for several seconds then go back to normal almost like it was timed, not random; being a smaller stall there was no way to get out of the stream. Good customer service and support. New towels, tp, and soap each day! My husband and sister and I were in town for the Homesteaders of America 2023 conference, and we were interested in a budget friendly place to stay as we weren't spending much time there except to sleep. On the pro side: we got good nights of sleep, and the shower was always hot🔥, it was very handy having a microwave and mini fridge as I made our meals and planned to reheat them. As for cons: if you are traveling with children, these rooms are on the very small side of the scale, the smallest I've ever been in. The room didn't smell the freshest, but after opening the windows to air it out after a bit, it wasn't too bad. I would recommend Blue Ridge to anyone looking to save money and get good sleep in a bed.

It is a 1950's style establishment. The place is antiquated, fixtures are old, but it is quite clean! It was a great value. Management at the front was professional and courteous. Our towels were swapped out for clean ones the first day there. The room attendant was great.

Really surprised. Usually don't like motels but this place was CLEAN! Kudos to the maids that come through. Staff was friendly and the beds were pretty comfortable. They also provide towels and toiletries which I feel is uncommon for motels. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the the hot water in the shower turned off at one point. Other than that it's a great value for the location and quality.
