DoubleTree by Hilton Front Royal Blue Ridge Shadows

Overall, this was a good stay. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the front desk service really stood out. Kelly and Joe were amazing — friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our visit. They both did a great job making us feel welcome. However, there were a couple of issues that shouldn’t have happened, especially at a Hilton DoubleTree. When we checked into our room, all the toiletry dispensers were empty — no shampoo, no conditioner, and no body lotion. Housekeeping did refill all three bottles the next day, but that’s not really the point. Those basics should be ready for guests upon arrival.

These rooms seem to be refurbished older rooms. When we got settled, it was as chill (end of September) so we turned on heat. A terrible stench came up. We really couldn’t bear it and it persisted so we called the desk. Hannah kindly helped out, checking nearby rooms to determine if any might be clear of this issue. Fortunately one was located across the hall and we moved. Always annoying to move all your stuff. We were told the temperature control units were “old.” One overhead light in the bathroom was out. Some street noise and also from a nearby generator though that did not continue long. Comfortable bed. Magnifying mirror in bath. Luggage cart was old, bearing on its last …. Friendly, helpful staff. Attractive room.

Positive: Restaurant in the hotel Negative: While taking a shower I recognized that the shower gel dispenser was empty. This should not happen considering the price of the hotel. Hotel staff with limited enthusiasm and friendliness about guests.

I had a great stay here and would stay again. I used Hilton points to pay for the room and am a Diamond member. The online check-in and mobile key worked well. Alex was very pleasant at the front desk. All of the employees were very friendly. The location is excellent, set against the mountains and a golf course, secluded and quiet, yet not far from Front Royal, shopping and restaurants, 522, and the interstate. It was a great experience overall. Thank you.

I recently stayed there with 3 of my coworkers. One stayed 6 days and the rest of us stayed 5. While the hotel looks nice, updated and clean. We all experienced different situations that made us feel the same way. It's not properly clean. One could smell in the sheets someone else's body odor. Like The sheets were never changed. Another found pills and glasses on the floor when he 1st arrived. He left them there until he checked out. I ended up closing my room and not having Housekeeping go in there anymore. I didn't see anything done other than my bed made. The We were here messages were starting to pile up bc those were never picked up even if they did come by to check on the room. That's too bad... It's really disappointing. This is the most convenient location as far as distance
